Use Chrome DevTools: open the Device toolbar, open its More options menu, then select Capture a full size screenshot. Chrome captures the whole page, including content beyond the visible viewport.
Capture the whole page with Chrome DevTools
- Open the page you want to capture in Chrome.
- Open DevTools. Use F12 or Control+Shift+I on Windows or Linux. On Mac, use Command+Option+I. You can also open DevTools from Chrome’s menu. See Chrome’s keyboard shortcuts reference.
- Turn on the Device toolbar. Press Control+Shift+M on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+M on Mac. Alternatively, click the Toggle device toolbar control in DevTools.
- Open the Device toolbar’s More options menu and choose Capture a full size screenshot. This is Chrome’s documented full-page capture command; it includes content that is not visible in the viewport. See Simulate mobile devices with device mode.
- Check the saved image and confirm the page content appears as expected.
Full-page capture versus area capture
Capture a full size screenshot is intended to capture the whole page. By contrast, the Command Menu’s Capture area screenshot lets you drag-select a region; it is for a portion of a page, not a replacement for full-page capture. Chrome notes that area capture does not work when DevTools is undocked. Details are in Chrome’s Command Menu instructions.
Check the result on dynamic pages
Chrome documents the capture workflow, but does not guarantee identical results on every page. Pages with changing content, sticky elements, or unusual lengths may not render as expected in a screenshot. Inspect the output before sharing or relying on it.
