To loop one authorized Marathi song video, add it to OBS as a Media Source and enable Loop. To rotate several songs, add them to a VLC Video source and enable Loop Playlist. Then connect OBS to a YouTube Live stream, configure a 4K/60 encoder, and check the preview and stream health before making the broadcast public.
At 4K/60, YouTube’s recommended bitrate depends on the codec: 35 Mbps for AV1 or H.265, and 50 Mbps for H.264. Those are ingestion recommendations, not a guarantee that your computer or internet connection can sustain a broadcast. [YouTube encoder settings]
Choose a single-song loop or a playlist
Repeat one song video
Use OBS’s Media Source for a local video file. Its Loop setting repeats the file when playback reaches the end; the setting is off by default. OBS supports common video formats including MP4, TS, MOV, FLV, MKV, AVI, GIF, and WebM, as well as audio formats including MP3, AAC, OGG, and WAV. [OBS Media Sources]
Rotate multiple songs
Use OBS’s VLC Video source to make a playlist, then enable Loop Playlist. OBS documents this setting as on by default. VLC must be installed for the VLC Video source type to appear in OBS. [OBS Media Sources]

These controls repeat a file or playlist; they do not establish that audio will transition gaplessly between tracks. Check transitions in a rehearsal before relying on a long broadcast.
Prepare the music and confirm your rights
Before adding files, make sure you have permission to broadcast the music and any accompanying video on YouTube Live. A song being Marathi, devotional, traditional-sounding, or available on another platform does not by itself establish live-broadcast rights. Owning a physical copy, crediting the artist, or having a personal music subscription also does not supply those rights.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects a match, it may replace the stream with a placeholder and warn you; continued use can lead to interruption or termination. A copyright strike can also terminate a stream. If you have a license, YouTube says to ask the rights holder to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist: a licensed stream may still be interrupted if it is not allowlisted. [YouTube Help: copyright issues with live streams]
YouTube’s livestream terms say creators represent that they have the necessary rights for worldwide use of live content on Google services, including music licensing rights involving artists, labels, publishers, public-performance licenses, and other royalty participants. [YouTube Terms of Service]

YouTube Creator Music is not a clearance route for this use: its guidance says catalog tracks are for long-form videos, not live streams. Set up the loop in OBS
- Open or create a scene. In OBS, select an existing scene or create one for the song stream.
- Add a source. In the Sources panel, select +. Choose Media Source for one file, or VLC Video for a playlist. If VLC Video is unavailable, install VLC and restart OBS.
- Select the media. For Media Source, choose the local song video file. For VLC Video, add the files to the playlist in the order you want them played.
- Enable repeat. For a single file, turn on Loop in the Media Source properties. For a playlist, turn on Loop Playlist in the VLC Video properties.
- Check picture and sound. Confirm the video fits the scene, OBS’s audio meter responds, and playback continues as expected. Preview track changes and the end-to-start transition; do not assume playlist looping makes audio gapless.
For the full set of source options and supported media types, see OBS’s Media Sources documentation.

Configure OBS for YouTube Live at 4K/60
Choose a codec and bitrate target
YouTube’s current encoder guidance recommends these bitrates for 4K/2160p at 60 frames per second. The values differ by codec and are recommendations for sending a stream to YouTube, not a promise of stable performance on a particular setup. [YouTube encoder settings]
| Codec | YouTube-recommended bitrate for 4K/60 | Stated minimum |
|---|---|---|
| AV1 or H.265 (HEVC) | 35 Mbps | 10 Mbps |
| H.264 | 50 Mbps | 14 Mbps |
Select a codec your encoder and hardware support, and use the matching bitrate guidance. Do not treat the lower stated minimum as the recommended target, or assume H.264 and AV1/H.265 can use the same bitrate for YouTube’s 4K/60 guidance.

Set frame rate, rate control, and keyframes
- Resolution and frame rate: Set the output to 3840 × 2160 and 60 fps if your computer can encode it reliably. YouTube detects encoder resolution and frame rate automatically by default.
- Rate control: YouTube recommends constant bitrate (CBR).
- Keyframe interval: Use 2 seconds, YouTube’s recommendation; do not exceed 4 seconds.
- Latency: YouTube’s guide says 4K/2160p at 60 fps does not offer the low-latency option and is optimized for normal latency.
These are YouTube’s platform recommendations, not evidence that a particular PC, encoder, or connection can maintain the selected output. Confirm the options available in your OBS encoder and supported hardware. [YouTube encoder settings]
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Connect OBS and start the broadcast
- Create or schedule a YouTube Live stream. In YouTube’s live streaming setup, choose an encoder workflow and retrieve the stream URL and stream key from the stream settings.
- Enter the connection details in OBS. In OBS, open Settings → Stream. Select YouTube if you are using the available account/service connection, or enter the stream URL and stream key if configuring a custom server. Keep the key private; anyone with it may be able to send a feed to your stream.
- Run a representative test. Check your real upload capacity, then test with the intended 4K/60 output and representative song audio and motion. YouTube recommends testing upload bitrate and stream health. [YouTube encoder settings] [YouTube live encoder troubleshooting]
- Start OBS streaming and inspect YouTube’s preview. Wait for the feed to appear in YouTube Live Control Room. Check picture, sound, and stream health; once satisfied, select Go live in Live Control Room if the stream is scheduled for a manual start. [YouTube encoder setup]
YouTube’s current encoder guide says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume a longer broadcast will be archived in the same way. [YouTube encoder setup]
Troubleshoot common problems
- The song stops at the end. For a single Media Source, open its properties and enable Loop. For a playlist, check Loop Playlist in VLC Video properties.
- VLC Video is missing from the source menu. OBS requires VLC to be installed for that source type. Install VLC and restart OBS.
- The playlist repeats but there is a pause or audio break. Playlist looping does not establish gapless playback. Inspect the files and transitions in a test stream; if uninterrupted transitions are essential, choose files and a playback workflow that meet that requirement before broadcasting.
- YouTube does not show a preview or reports poor stream health. Check that OBS is streaming to the correct stream URL and key, confirm the connection’s upload capacity, and test again at the intended resolution, frame rate, codec, and bitrate. A nominal internet-plan speed or YouTube’s bitrate recommendation alone does not prove the connection can sustain the stream.
- The stream looks wrong or drops frames. Compare the encoder output against your computer’s encoding capacity and the matching YouTube bitrate recommendation. Test representative content and monitor stream health before the public broadcast; reduce the output settings if your setup cannot maintain them.
- YouTube interrupts the broadcast over music. Review the rights for every track and video, and contact the rights holder about Content ID allowlisting if you hold a license. A license does not guarantee uninterrupted streaming without allowlisting.
