You can multistream to YouTube, Twitch, and Kick from the cloud by sending one live feed from your encoder to a cloud relay, then configuring the relay to forward it to all three platforms. This reduces the number of separate feeds your computer must upload; it does not remove the need for a stable connection, active destination accounts, or platform-specific settings.
How cloud multistreaming works
Your encoder—such as streaming software on your computer—sends one video and audio feed to a cloud service. The service then distributes copies to the destinations you configure. YouTube describes this as a cloud service encoder workflow: “Send one high-quality live stream to a cloud service, and the service distributes it to all your desired channels, resolutions or platforms.” See YouTube’s guide to streaming across platforms.
That differs from a local multi-output setup, where your computer creates and sends separate outputs to multiple platforms. A cloud relay can reduce local encoding work and creator-side upload demand compared with sending multiple feeds directly, but the relay still needs to receive a sufficiently stable feed, and each destination must accept its own output.
Before you start
- YouTube: Verify your channel and enable live streaming. YouTube says first-time activation can take at least 24 hours after you request it. Make sure the channel is in good standing. Details are in YouTube’s simulstreaming guidance.
- Twitch and Kick: Confirm you can stream on each account and that it is in good standing. Review Twitch’s simulcasting conditions and, if you are a Kick Partner, the partner multistream rules before going live.
- Cloud relay: Choose a service whose current documentation and plan explicitly support YouTube, Twitch, and Kick as destinations. Verify destination count, output configuration, stream-health monitoring, and any plan limits. Cloud relays do not all support the same platforms or controls.
- Connection: Test your upload speed at the location and time you expect to stream. Use a wired connection if available, and leave headroom rather than treating a speed-test result as guaranteed sustained capacity.
Set up a cloud relay to send to all three platforms
- Enable YouTube live streaming. In YouTube Studio, follow the live-stream setup flow for your channel. If this is your first activation, request it well ahead of your planned stream; YouTube says activation may take at least 24 hours.
- Create or schedule the YouTube stream. Set the stream’s title, audience and visibility in YouTube Studio. Use the event’s stream key and server URL if your relay requires them. Treat the key like a password: someone who obtains it may be able to broadcast to your channel.
- Find the Twitch and Kick ingest details. Add each platform in your relay using the RTMP server URL and stream key it requests. On Kick, the setup guide points to Creator Dashboard > Channel > Stream URL and Key. If you reset a Kick key, update the relay with the replacement. Never share keys in screenshots, chat, or public documents.
- Configure one input and three outputs. In the relay, create one incoming feed from your encoder, then add YouTube, Twitch and Kick as separate destinations. Enter each platform’s own server URL and key. Cloudflare’s documentation illustrates this input/output pattern and says its product supports up to 50 concurrent destinations per live input; that is a Cloudflare-specific capability, not a guarantee for other services or plans. See Cloudflare Stream live inputs documentation.
- Set the encoder and relay output conservatively. Choose a resolution and bitrate your connection can sustain and that is acceptable to the narrowest destination. If the relay permits per-destination output settings, configure each output according to that platform’s current requirements rather than assuming one preset fits all three. Kick’s setup guide lists a maximum of 1920×1080, 60 fps, 8,000 kbps, CBR, a 2-second keyframe interval, and H.264/X264 support. These are Kick-specific figures, not a shared YouTube/Twitch/Kick preset; check Kick’s current setup guide.
- Start the relay and encoder, then verify each destination. Check that video and audio appear on all three platform dashboards and watch their stream-health indicators. If possible, validate with a private or unlisted test session before promoting a public event.
How much upload speed do you need?
With a cloud relay, your connection normally sends one feed to the relay, so use that feed’s bitrate as the starting point for your upload requirement and leave additional headroom for network variation. This is an architecture-based planning rule, not a separate numerical upload recommendation from YouTube. Test under realistic conditions and monitor stream health during the broadcast.

If you send multiple outputs directly from your computer instead, YouTube advises adding their target bitrates and aiming for upload capacity 1.5–2 times the combined total for stability. YouTube’s example uses a 6 Mbps feed plus a 4 Mbps feed: 10 Mbps combined, with 15–20 Mbps upload capacity advised. The same guide recommends cloud encoding as a simpler, lighter-on-the-computer option when reaching more than two channels, while local encoding can offer more control when you have capable hardware. See YouTube’s guidance.
Platform rules that affect simultaneous streaming
Twitch simulcasting conditions
Twitch allows simulcasting subject to its stated conditions, unless an agreement requires exclusivity. The Twitch experience must be at least as good as the experience on other platforms; you must not direct Twitch viewers away to another platform; and you must not combine activity from other platforms—such as cross-platform chat—into the Twitch stream. Read Twitch’s Terms of Service and Twitch’s simulcasting FAQ before configuring overlays, calls to action, or chat tools. Policies can change, so check the current wording before a broadcast.

Kick Partner multistreaming
Kick’s multistream control applies to Kick Partner Program streamers. For long-form platforms such as YouTube or Twitch, partners must enable the control. Kick says a partner’s payout is reduced by 50% during a multistream session while the control is enabled; this is a partner-program rule, not a statement about earnings for every Kick streamer. Kick says partners can enable it after starting the stream or use /multi on, and disable it with /multi off. Confirm the current requirement in Kick’s multistreaming guidance before streaming.
Cloud relay or local multi-output streaming?
| Approach | Creator-side upload | Local computer load | Control and trade-offs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Local multi-output encoder | Separate direct feeds can add up; YouTube recommends upload capacity of 1.5–2 times their combined target bitrates for stability. | More local resources may be needed for multiple outputs. | Can offer greater encoding control and suit a capable computer. You configure outputs locally and must account for each destination’s settings. |
| Cloud relay | One feed to the relay is the starting point for planning upload capacity; allow headroom and test. | YouTube describes cloud encoding as lighter on the computer than local encoding. | The relay forwards configured outputs. Check its supported destinations, monitoring, output controls, subscription and plan limits before choosing it. |
| Managed cloud workflow | One incoming feed per configured workflow; confirm the service’s actual requirements. | Encoding and distribution are handled through the selected cloud service, subject to its design. | Cloudflare’s documentation describes dashboard/API input and output management, but does not establish it as the best consumer choice or confirm a particular plan’s destination support. |
Troubleshooting common problems
One platform shows no video
Check that the destination is enabled in the relay and that its stream URL and key belong to the correct account and event. Re-enter credentials carefully if needed. For Kick, a reset key must also be updated in the relay.

The stream buffers or drops frames
Reduce the incoming bitrate or resolution, check for competing uploads on your network, and retest sustained upload capacity. For a cloud relay, the creator connection carries one feed, but it still needs stable capacity above that feed’s bitrate. Watch the platform’s stream-health status after making changes.
Kick rejects the encoder settings
Check Kick’s current ingest limits. Its cited guide lists up to 1920×1080 at 60 fps and 8,000 kbps, with CBR, a 2-second keyframe interval, and H.264/X264 support. Do not assume that matching Kick’s limits automatically satisfies YouTube or Twitch.

Twitch flags the presentation or cross-platform elements
Review the simulcasting conditions before adding combined chat, other-platform activity, or calls to action that direct Twitch viewers elsewhere. Remove elements that make the Twitch experience inferior or merge other platforms’ activity into the Twitch stream.
A Kick Partner is unsure whether multistreaming affects payout
Check whether the account is in the Kick Partner Program and whether the multistream toggle is enabled for the session. Kick’s stated 50% reduction applies to partner payout during sessions with that toggle on; consult Kick’s current partner guidance for the applicable terms.
