A YouTube Premiere’s views carry over to the same video when the Premiere ends; they do not normally belong to a separate replay. If the count looks stuck or differs between the watch page and YouTube Studio, first allow time for YouTube to validate playbacks, then compare the video’s Analytics reports. A mismatch by itself does not prove the counter is broken.
Check that you’re viewing the same video
A Premiere starts on a public watch page. After the event, the video remains on your channel as a regular upload, and its Premiere view count transfers to it. You should not expect a separate replay video with a separate count by default. YouTube explains this in its Premiere a new video help page.
Open the video from your channel or YouTube Studio and confirm that its title and URL match the Premiere you hosted. This rules out comparing the original video with a different upload or another video’s count.
Allow time for YouTube to validate and report views
YouTube may take time to show metrics, particularly in the first few hours after publication. It checks whether playbacks are legitimate, and during that process it may slow, freeze, change, or discard counts. There is no universal deadline by which every discrepancy must resolve; timing varies by video.

A count that pauses temporarily is therefore not enough to conclude that views have been lost. Check again later rather than repeatedly refreshing and treating each display as a final total. YouTube describes its validation process in How engagement metrics are counted.
Compare the right YouTube metrics
In YouTube Studio, open Content, select the video, then open Analytics. Use the reports for the question you are trying to answer instead of relying on one fast-updating number.

Know what YouTube counts as a view
As of August 24, 2026, YouTube’s guidance says a public view is counted when playback starts across Shorts, long-form videos, and live streams. That definition does not mean the viewer watched for a particular length of time. Engaged views are a separate measure, and qualified views and watch hours remain relevant to eligibility.

These distinctions matter when two totals appear inconsistent: a public view count answers a different question from whether people continued watching or whether activity qualifies toward an eligibility threshold. See YouTube’s current engagement metrics guidance for its definitions.
Avoid checking behavior that can invalidate playbacks
Do not replay your own video across several devices, or open it in multiple tabs or windows, to force the number upward. YouTube identifies those patterns as examples of low-quality playback. Buying views or using other artificial traffic is not a safe workaround: artificial traffic may not count and can lead to strikes under YouTube’s Fake engagement policy.

When the count still looks wrong
If the discrepancy persists after YouTube has had time to validate and update its reporting, review the same video’s Studio Analytics again and contact YouTube account support if available to you. Public help pages explain general counting and transfer behavior, but they cannot determine the processing or Analytics state of an individual video, and contacting support does not guarantee a particular outcome.
