After a CameraFi Live broadcast ends, open the app, select YouTube, and sign in to the YouTube account and channel you want to use for the next stream. CameraFi’s published instructions do not establish that you need to reauthorize after every broadcast or that the app has a dedicated “Reconnect” button. If the next stream still will not start, first identify whether the issue is the selected channel, YouTube sign-in, a stream key, channel eligibility, or the network.
Reconnect for your next CameraFi Live broadcast
- Open CameraFi Live and choose YouTube. Follow the app’s YouTube sign-in flow. CameraFi’s July 2025 walkthrough describes selecting YouTube and logging in; the CameraFi account and the platform account do not have to be the same account. CameraFi’s YouTube Live walkthrough.
- Check the channel shown after sign-in. YouTube may open on a primary channel when you intended to stream from a secondary one. CameraFi’s help index links to instructions for switching channels; use those instructions if the wrong channel is selected. CameraFi Live tutorials and help index.
- Start the next broadcast using the app’s normal live workflow. A finished stream does not, by itself, show that your YouTube authorization or stream key has expired. Do not reset a key simply because a broadcast ended.
CameraFi’s official iOS beginner guide describes account login and logout under “My Profile.” That guide was published December 27, 2024; app labels and navigation can vary by platform and release, so use it as general account-navigation guidance rather than a guaranteed current screen-by-screen path. First identify what “reconnect” means
CameraFi’s documented connection flow is sign-in to YouTube, but YouTube also supports encoder workflows that use a stream URL and key. These are different connection paths: troubleshoot the one your setup actually uses rather than changing credentials indiscriminately.

If CameraFi uses direct YouTube sign-in
If selecting YouTube does not complete login, confirm that you are signing in to the intended Google account and that the intended channel is selected. CameraFi’s help index provides an app support contact. YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance says users who cannot sign in to YouTube from third-party streaming software without a stream key should contact that software’s support team. If you can sign in but cannot start a broadcast, check YouTube eligibility separately; repeatedly logging out and back in will not resolve a channel restriction.
If your setup uses a YouTube stream key
- Open YouTube Live Control Room and review the stream settings for the broadcast. YouTube notes that returning users may have previous settings, including a stream key, loaded automatically. Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- Compare the current URL and key with the values in the encoder. If YouTube’s current key differs from the one configured in the encoder, update the encoder with the current values.
- Reset only when needed. YouTube describes a stream key as “like your YouTube stream’s password and address,” so keep it private. A key reset may be appropriate if it has been compromised, but requires owner or manager permission; after a reset, update the encoder to use the new key. Manage live stream settings.
A key reset is not a routine post-stream reconnection step. If the app uses direct YouTube sign-in rather than an encoder key, changing a stream key is not the relevant fix.

Check YouTube eligibility and connection health
- Eligibility: YouTube’s live-stream guidance says the channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Its general setup guidance gives a minimum age of 16 for live streaming. These are YouTube rules, not CameraFi settings, and can change; check YouTube’s current guidance for your channel. - Upload bandwidth: YouTube recommends at least 20% upload-bandwidth headroom above the total bitrate of the stream. A connection that previously worked can still struggle if other devices or applications are using upload capacity. YouTube streaming tips.
- Preview and monitor: Preview the stream in Live Control Room when applicable, and watch for audio or video problems instead of assuming every interruption is an account issue. The same YouTube tips recommend monitoring the stream’s audio and video.
Common problems and fixes
The wrong YouTube channel keeps appearing
Switch to the intended channel using CameraFi’s account/channel guidance. The app’s default login may use the primary channel, so verify the destination before going live.
CameraFi cannot finish YouTube login
Try the intended YouTube account and channel selection again. If direct third-party sign-in still fails, contact CameraFi support; YouTube specifically directs users with this kind of no-key software login problem to the software provider.

The encoder says the key or server is invalid
Check the current stream URL and key in Live Control Room, then update the encoder if the key changed. If a key was reset, the encoder must be updated to match.
You are signed in but cannot go live
Check channel verification and whether YouTube has imposed a live-stream restriction within the previous 90 days. These channel-level requirements are separate from reconnecting CameraFi.

The stream starts but stalls or has poor quality
Check available upload bandwidth against the stream bitrate, leave YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom, and preview and monitor the broadcast for audio/video problems.
