Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Start by checking the current YouTube stream URL and key in Larix, then verify the connection protocol and your phone’s outbound internet connection. A wrong or outdated key, a URL or protocol mismatch, or an unreliable network can prevent Larix from reaching YouTube. The title alone does not identify the cause; the exact Larix error and the state shown in YouTube Live Control Room help narrow it down.
1. Check the current YouTube stream URL and key
In YouTube Live Control Room, open the setup for the stream you intend to use and copy its current stream URL and stream key into Larix. YouTube’s encoder workflow treats these as separate values; Larix can also use a combined Connection URL formed from the server/application URL followed by the key. Softvelum’s documentation illustrates that format with rtmp://a.rtmp.youtube.com/live2/<stream-key>, but that example is not a guarantee that the same URL applies to every stream. Use the values shown for your stream in Live Control Room.
If you recently reset or replaced the key, update Larix with the new one. YouTube specifically recommends getting a new stream key in Live Control Room and updating the encoder when a third-party encoder errors while starting. That is a useful first check, not proof that every connection failure is caused by the key. See YouTube’s encoder setup instructions, Larix documentation, and YouTube’s live-stream troubleshooting guide.
2. Verify the protocol and full server URL
Check that Larix is using the protocol and complete server URL appropriate for the selected YouTube stream. YouTube recommends RTMPS, a secure extension of RTMP, and Softvelum lists RTMPS support for Larix. An old saved connection or a URL that does not match the current Live Control Room setup can cause connection trouble.

If Larix reports an SSL error or a timeout, YouTube advises checking both the server URL and protocol. Its RTMPS troubleshooting guidance mentions port 443 for some SSL errors and recommends checking whether the encoder supports RTMPS if timeouts continue. Avoid substituting a generic URL or assuming HLS is a suitable workaround: the sources here do not establish Larix HLS compatibility for this use case. Consult YouTube’s RTMPS guidance and Softvelum’s Larix Broadcaster page.
3. Check the phone’s connection to YouTube
A healthy-looking local preview in Larix does not prove that the phone can reliably send the stream to YouTube. Test the phone’s outbound internet connection, including upload strength and stability. YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance separates a stream that looks and sounds good in the encoder from a healthy connection to YouTube; if local output is fine but delivery is not, investigate the outbound connection and contact your internet provider if the test points to a connectivity problem.

Larix’s FAQ documents reconnect timeout and network-presence controls. These affect retry behavior; they cannot correct a bad stream key, an incorrect URL, or an unreachable server. See Larix’s FAQ and YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance.
4. If Larix connects, check stream health and encoder settings
Distinguish failure to connect from a connection that YouTube receives but reports as unhealthy or unsupported. For stream health, YouTube’s general encoder guidance specifies RTMP or RTMPS; H.264, H.265, or AV1 video; AAC or MP3 audio; and constant bitrate (CBR). It recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed four seconds. Recommended bitrate depends on resolution, frame rate, and codec, so select a setting appropriate to your upload capacity and check the stream health indicator in Live Control Room rather than treating one bitrate as universal.

These settings address stream compatibility and health after transmission begins. If Larix reports a connection error before YouTube receives the feed, prioritize the URL, key, protocol, and network checks above. Full recommendations are in YouTube’s encoder settings guide.
5. Use the error and Live Control Room status to narrow it down
- Larix errors while starting: confirm the selected stream and refresh the key from Live Control Room if it may be outdated.
- SSL error or timeout: recheck the server URL and protocol; for an SSL issue, review YouTube’s port 443 guidance, and if timeouts persist, verify RTMPS support in the encoder.
- Local preview looks good but delivery is unreliable: test the phone’s outbound connection and check whether Live Control Room receives the feed.
- YouTube receives the stream but flags its health: review codec, audio format, CBR, keyframe interval, and bitrate against YouTube’s recommendations.
If the basic checks do not resolve it, note the exact Larix error, device platform and app version, protocol and URL type, and whether Live Control Room receives a preview. Those details give app or platform support a clearer starting point. The documented troubleshooting branches do not map every Larix error message to one unique cause.
