iPhone 18 vs Galaxy S27: rumored specifications at a glance
The figures below come from Digit’s October 2, 2026 leak-and-rumor comparison. They are not manufacturer-confirmed specifications, and no head-to-head testing of these standard models is available in the cited reporting.

Price in India: both are forecasts, not launch prices
Digit forecasts that each phone could cost more than ₹1 lakh in India. For the iPhone 18, the report uses ₹99,900 as the reported India price of the iPhone 17 for context; that figure is not an announced iPhone 18 price. Samsung’s Galaxy S27 price is likewise not confirmed. Treat the estimates as broad prelaunch expectations, not a reliable basis for budgeting or comparing value.
Display: similar reported size, uncertain brightness and refresh rate
Digit reports a 6.3-inch screen for each phone. Its rumored iPhone 18 figures are 120Hz refresh and up to 3,000 nits, while its Galaxy S27 figures are a 120Hz-to-144Hz refresh range and peak brightness above 2,600 nits. These claims are unverified, and the report does not establish standardized brightness testing or that the refresh-rate figures use comparable conditions. They do not show which display will look brighter or feel smoother in ordinary use.

Camera: a rumored telephoto gives Samsung a different setup
The reported layouts differ in one practical way: the iPhone 18 is expected to have two rear cameras, while the Galaxy S27 is rumored to add a third, 10MP telephoto camera. The report lists a 48MP main and 48MP ultrawide for iPhone, and a 50MP main, 12MP ultrawide and 10MP telephoto for Samsung. It also suggests 24MP and 12MP front cameras, respectively.
Those numbers do not establish photo or video quality. Sensor performance, lenses, image processing and real sample images matter, and no independent comparison of these unannounced models is available in the cited sources. A telephoto lens could offer a different framing option, but the rumor alone does not prove its image quality or zoom performance.

Processor: chip predictions do not establish a performance winner
The reported expectation is an A20 for the standard iPhone 18; for Galaxy S27, Digit names Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 or Exynos 2700 as possibilities. Neither prediction is confirmed for these models, and the comparison provides no benchmark results.
Apple’s published A20 Pro information and its September 2026 announcement concern the iPhone 18 Pro models, not the standard iPhone 18. Those Pro details cannot confirm the standard phone’s processor or configuration. Without confirmed chips and comparable performance tests, there is no sound basis to call either standard model faster.

Battery and charging: capacity and watts are not endurance tests
Digit’s reported estimates are 4,000mAh and 25W charging for iPhone 18, versus 4,300–4,900mAh and 25–45W wired charging for Galaxy S27. These figures are unverified. Battery capacity alone does not show how long a phone lasts, and a quoted charging wattage does not establish how quickly it charges in practice. The report gives no measured battery-life or charging-time comparison.
Launch timing: wait for announcements before making plans
Digit expects both standard phones next year, but does not provide a confirmed Galaxy S27 release date. Macworld reported in September 2026 that the standard iPhone 18 was not announced alongside Apple’s September Pro phones and described spring 2027 as an unconfirmed expectation. Apple’s September 11 announcement covers the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, not the standard iPhone 18. Pro launch information should not be treated as confirmation of the standard model’s timing or features.

What to check before choosing between them
When official models and independent testing become available, compare evidence that answers real buying questions rather than selecting from rumored headline numbers:
- Official India prices and actual sale availability for the exact models.
- Confirmed screen size, refresh behavior and brightness measured under comparable conditions.
- Independent photo and video samples, including ultrawide and telephoto performance.
- Benchmarks and sustained performance under comparable workloads.
- Measured battery life and charging time, rather than capacity and maximum wattage alone.
Until those details exist, the useful distinction is limited: current reporting sketches a two-camera iPhone and a three-camera Galaxy with a rumored telephoto, while the rest of the comparison remains provisional.
