First, identify what you mean by “feed.” IBM Video Streaming’s documented encoder workflow sends a live stream to an IBM channel; that documentation does not establish that IBM automatically sends the channel’s feed onward to YouTube. If IBM shows the broadcast but YouTube does not, check the separately configured YouTube destination or integration—not just the IBM ingest settings.

Start by identifying the feed and its route

“Feed” can mean a live broadcast, an IBM playlist or channel listing, an embedded IBM player, or a stream intended to be sent from IBM to YouTube. Those are different workflows, so first establish where the encoder is sending video and where you expect it to appear.

  • Encoder to IBM: IBM’s Broadcast Settings documentation describes sending a stream into an IBM channel with an encoder URL and stream key.
  • IBM playlist or channel page: Check whether the item is published and visible, or scheduled to go live.
  • IBM to YouTube: Verify the separate YouTube destination or integration and which account or service is responsible for it. The reviewed IBM documentation does not confirm automatic syndication from an IBM channel to YouTube.

Also note whether the stream never appears, appears and then stops, or is scheduled but not yet live; whether the problem affects one channel or several; and whether IBM itself displays the live video. These clues help isolate the stage that needs attention.

If an encoder is sending the stream into IBM

  1. Open the intended IBM channel’s Broadcast Settings. Confirm that the encoder is using that channel’s current RTMP or RTMPS server URL and stream key. A URL or key for a different channel, or an invalid or stale key, can prevent IBM from receiving the intended stream.
  2. Check the encoder destination. If the encoder is meant to send to IBM, verify the IBM destination settings rather than assuming that sending to IBM also sends to YouTube. If you intend to send to both, confirm that YouTube is configured as a separate destination through your authorized workflow.
  3. Confirm IBM is receiving the broadcast. Look for an active broadcast in IBM and inspect Live Monitoring and Troubleshooting for the channel’s broadcast performance, configuration, and platform health.
  4. Protect the stream key. Treat it as a credential: do not publish it or include it in an unsecured support message. If you suspect it has been exposed, review IBM’s channel settings and use the credential-management options available for your account.

If “feed” means an IBM playlist or channel listing

  • Check scheduled versus published status. IBM’s playlist guidance says a scheduled playlist is not shown to viewers before its broadcast. If you want it listed as a regular channel-page playlist, check whether it needs to be unscheduled and published instead.
  • Check the relevant visibility settings. Confirm the playlist is enabled for the IBM channel page or embed where you expect it to appear. IBM playlist visibility is separate from whether a playlist is scheduled to go live.
  • Check playlist type and channel history. IBM says only manual playlists can go live. Its scheduling guidance also notes that a channel with no prior genuine encoder-based live broadcast may show “Please initiate a test broadcast” during playlist scheduling.

These checks explain IBM playlist visibility; they do not establish that an IBM playlist will appear on YouTube.

Check service health, then escalate with useful evidence

  1. Inspect IBM Live Monitoring. Use the dashboard’s monitoring and troubleshooting tool to check the broadcast and channel configuration.
  2. Check IBM Video Streaming’s status page. IBM posts service-interruption updates there; a current incident may affect the IBM side of the route.
  3. Compare what each platform shows. If IBM shows the live stream but YouTube does not, focus on the separately configured YouTube destination or integration. If IBM does not show it either, continue investigating encoder-to-IBM ingest.
  4. Contact IBM support if the IBM side remains unclear. IBM directs users to open a support case or use live chat. Include the channel or video identifier, approximate timestamps and time zone, screenshots, the exact error, encoder name and version, and whether IBM displays the stream. Do not send the stream key through an unsecured message.

Keep an always-on prerecorded YouTube stream running

If your separate goal is to keep uploaded videos looping as a 24/7 YouTube live stream, StreamNeo is a cloud service for that use case—not a documented IBM-to-YouTube relay. You upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and start the stream; the cloud keeps it running without a computer or home connection staying on.

Each slot supports one always-on YouTube stream, looping and playlists, 10 GB of storage per slot pooled across active slots, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and support from the StreamNeo team. Uploaded video streams as made, up to 4K 60fps, without re-encoding or quality tiers. The first day is free with no card; there is one free day per account. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. UPI and cards are accepted in India; card checkout is available worldwide.
