91mobiles reported the following India prices in its 2 October 2026 comparison. These are reported prices, not independently verified live retailer prices; check the exact SKU and current price before buying.

At either matched storage capacity, the Redmi’s reported price is lower by the same amount. That makes it the straightforward pick if keeping the upfront cost down is the priority. The comparison does not establish whether either price is still available, or account for retailer offers, trade-ins, or other price changes.
Battery and charging: the N6 has higher stated figures
Xiaomi lists a 6000mAh battery and 33W charging for the REDMI 17C 5G. OnePlus lists an 8000mAh typical capacity (7780mAh rated) and 45W charging for the N6. On those manufacturer specifications, the N6 has both the larger battery figure and higher charging wattage.

Capacity and charging ratings are not a substitute for a head-to-head endurance or charging test. The available information does not show how long either phone lasts in comparable real-world use, or how quickly each charges under the same conditions. OnePlus says its endurance figures are based on OnePlus Test Lab data; treat that as company testing, not an independent comparison.
Display, cameras, and other listed specifications
The manufacturers’ listed features offer useful points of comparison, but they do not establish that the two phones perform equally in each area.

Xiaomi describes the Redmi display as a 6.9-inch screen supporting “up to a 120Hz high refresh rate” in its official REDMI 17C 5G FAQ. OnePlus lists the N6’s display size and maximum refresh rate on its India product page. Refresh rate alone does not indicate resolution or overall display quality: Xiaomi specifies HD+ resolution for the Redmi, while the cited OnePlus display listing does not establish a comparable resolution here.
Both phones have a listed 50MP camera, but megapixel count does not prove equivalent image quality. The available specifications do not provide a controlled camera comparison. Likewise, the chipset names alone do not establish which phone is faster in everyday use; no independent head-to-head performance result is available here.

Which phone should you choose?
Choose the REDMI 17C 5G if upfront price matters most
At the reported India prices, the Redmi costs ₹4,000 less in both listed configurations. Its official specifications include a 6.9-inch HD+ display with up to 120Hz AdaptiveSync, a 6000mAh battery, 33W charging, and a 50MP rear camera system. Confirm that the RAM and storage configuration suits your needs before comparing offers.
Consider the OnePlus N6 if battery capacity and charging matter more
The N6’s listed battery capacity is 8000mAh typical (7780mAh rated), and its charging rating is 45W. Those figures may make it more appealing if battery capacity and charging are high on your priority list, but they do not guarantee longer use or faster charging in every situation.

Check these details before paying
- Compare the live price of the same RAM and storage configuration, not just the model name.
- Check the display’s size and resolution as well as its refresh-rate figure.
- Choose based on the battery and charging specifications you value, while remembering that listed ratings are not comparative test results.
- Consider whether you prefer HyperOS 3 or OxygenOS 16.
- Look for independent camera and performance testing if those are deciding factors; the specifications listed here do not settle those comparisons.
- Verify the exact India SKU and its current specifications, since configurations or regional versions can differ.
