Best for continuous prerecorded YouTube programming: StreamNeo keeps an uploaded video or playlist live from the cloud, so your computer can stay off. For a live camera feed, the right no-PC option depends on what you mean: stream directly from a phone, send a feed from an encoder to a cloud relay, or use a browser-based studio. Those are different workflows; a relay does not create a camera feed, and a browser studio still needs a compatible device and internet connection.
Choose the workflow that matches your stream
“Without a PC” can mean several things. Decide first whether you are broadcasting live from a camera, producing a show with guests, relaying an existing live feed, or playing prerecorded videos continuously. A cloud service can reduce the work your computer does, but most live-event workflows still need a device or encoder to produce and upload the source.
| Option | What it does | Best fit | Check before choosing |
|---|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Loops uploaded videos or playlists from the cloud to YouTube, without a computer running. | Continuous prerecorded programming, not a live camera event. | Confirm supported formats, storage needs, and current subscription details with StreamNeo. |
| Direct YouTube mobile stream | Uses a phone or tablet as the camera and streaming device. | Vlogging, field updates, and simple mobile-first broadcasts. | Current mobile eligibility and feature restrictions. |
| Cloud encoder or relay, such as Restream | Receives a live source feed and distributes it to destinations; it does not supply the camera scene. | Creators who already have a live feed and need relay or multistream distribution. | Source-device support, destination and plan limits, latency, network needs, and cost. |
| StreamYard | Browser-based livestream and podcast studio with guest interviews and branding. | Browser-based interviews and guest productions. | Browser and device requirements, upload needs, YouTube support, recording limits, and plan details. |
| Grabyo Producer | Browser-based production platform with switching, mixing, replay, remote contributors, graphics, and distribution. | Collaborative broadcasts requiring more production features. | Customer scale, onboarding, pricing, source hardware, and network setup. |
| Gyre | YouTube’s encoder directory describes cloud-based 24/7 streaming of prerecorded YouTube videos without a dedicated PC. | Continuous programming from a video library. | Supported formats, scheduling and automation limits, subscription terms, and content eligibility. |
YouTube’s encoder directory describes these vendors and their use cases; it is not an independent test or a ranking, and listing does not mean YouTube endorses a service as best. Current vendor pricing, plan limits, service-level commitments, and regional availability are not established here, so check those details with each provider before buying.

Best for a live camera without a computer: YouTube mobile streaming
If you want to broadcast what is happening now, a phone or tablet can be the source, camera, and streaming device. This is simpler than a cloud relay if you do not already have an encoder feed. YouTube applies separate eligibility requirements to mobile streaming, so check the current requirements in YouTube Help before planning an event. Mobile streaming is not the same as uploading a prerecorded playlist for continuous playback.

YouTube says expensive equipment is not necessary; use a phone you already have if it suits the production. A stable connection, charged device, clear audio, and a way to keep the phone steady matter more than adding equipment by default.

When a cloud relay or browser studio makes sense
Cloud relay: keep a live source, move distribution to the cloud
YouTube explains the relay model this way: “Send one high-quality live stream to a cloud service, and the service distributes it to all your desired channels, resolutions or platforms.” In practice, the source still has to be generated and sent to the service. A relay may reduce local distribution work, but it cannot fix a weak source connection or create a live camera scene from nothing.
Restream is listed in YouTube’s encoder directory as a streaming studio for creators and businesses; it is a candidate to investigate when you have a feed to send and need distribution. Verify its current source-device support, destinations, plan restrictions, and any studio features you need directly with the vendor.

Browser-based production: make the show in a browser
StreamYard is listed as a browser-based livestream and podcast studio with guest interviews and branding. Grabyo Producer is described as a cloud-native browser production platform with switching, mixing, replay, remote contributors, graphics, and distribution. “Browser-based” does not mean device-free: you still need a compatible device, browser, upload connection, and whatever cameras or microphones provide the show.
StreamYard is a natural candidate for guest interviews; Grabyo Producer is described for more collaborative, higher-production broadcasts. Confirm current hardware and browser requirements, onboarding, pricing, and plan limits with the provider. The available descriptions do not establish a like-for-like cost or feature ranking.

- Enable live streaming on the channel. YouTube requires a verified channel with live streaming enabled and no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. First-time enablement may take up to 24 hours, so do not leave activation until just before an event. Check YouTube Help for the current steps and eligibility.
- Open YouTube Live Control Room and get the stream URL and key. Use the RTMPS URL shown there; YouTube recommends RTMPS, the encrypted variant of RTMP. Do not assume a standard RTMP address is correct if the control room provides a different URL.
- Keep the stream key private. Treat it like a password. Enter it only in the intended encoder or service, avoid showing it on screen, and reset it through YouTube if it is exposed or compromised. Channel owners and managers can reset a key.
- Configure the source and destination. In the encoder or relay, select the YouTube destination and enter the RTMPS URL and stream key. If using a cloud relay, configure the relay to receive your source feed and forward it to YouTube. Exact interface labels vary by provider.
- Test before going live. Check the YouTube preview, video, and audio. YouTube advises testing in advance and leaving upload-bandwidth headroom; monitor the broadcast rather than assuming a cloud service will make a poor source connection stable.
- Start the encoder and confirm the live state. Follow the service’s start procedure, confirm the preview is healthy in Live Control Room, then monitor audio, video, and connection status during the broadcast.
Bandwidth, reliability, and content checks
Upload bandwidth still matters
The source device must upload a stable feed to the cloud relay or directly to YouTube. For an illustrative multi-destination example, YouTube Help says that 6 Mbps and 4 Mbps target bitrates total 10 Mbps, and suggests 15–20 Mbps upload speed for stability. This is YouTube’s example, not a universal bitrate or measured requirement for every stream. Leave headroom, test on the actual network, and avoid relying on a marginal connection.
Plan for monitoring and recovery
A relay distributes the feed it receives; it cannot compensate for an unstable internet connection between your source and the relay. For any live camera event, have someone monitor the preview and audio, and know how to restart or switch sources if the feed fails. For continuous prerecorded playback, a cloud playback service can remove the need to keep a home computer running; check what recovery behavior is included in the specific service.
Check rights and YouTube rules
Having a file available does not establish that you have the right to stream it. Review YouTube’s current copyright rules and the terms that apply to your content, especially for music, performances, and third-party video. For prerecorded streams, also make sure the material and presentation comply with YouTube’s current policies on reused content and monetization; a continuous loop is not a substitute for rights or policy compliance.

Cost and selection checklist
There is no supported like-for-like price ranking among the general cloud studios and relays here. Compare the actual workflow and total requirements rather than choosing by the word “cloud.”
- Source: Is it a live phone/camera feed, an encoder output, browser guests, or uploaded prerecorded files?
- Service role: Does the service produce the show, relay an existing feed, or schedule prerecorded playback?
- Device: Must a phone, browser, camera, encoder, or other source remain active?
- Delivery: Which destinations and resolutions are supported on the plan you would use?
- Limits and resilience: Check storage, duration, latency, recovery, monitoring, and redundancy details.
- Commercial fit: Confirm current plan restrictions, price, billing terms, and regional availability with the vendor.
For StreamNeo, compare the billing period with how long you need the channel running; the service offers the same plan features regardless of term. Its upload-time calculator, cloud-versus-PC cost calculator, and copyright safety checklist can help with planning.
Or let it run in the cloud
For uploaded videos or playlists that should stay live on YouTube, the setup is three steps: upload the video, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; uploads stream as made up to 4K 60fps at one price per slot; StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, and Monthly is $9.99 per month.
