Yes, but the 24/7 service does not bypass YouTube’s file-upload limit. You can upload a finished video through YouTube Studio from India if it meets YouTube’s general cap of 256 GB or 12 hours, whichever is less. For continuous 24/7 playback, a service sends a live feed to YouTube instead; that is a different workflow from uploading one large video file.
What YouTube allows for a large video upload
YouTube’s published maximum for one uploaded video is 256 GB or 12 hours, whichever is less. Both limits apply: a video must be below the file-size cap and no longer than the duration cap. YouTube says to compress a file in video-editing software if it exceeds 256 GB. The stated rule is general; the official guidance does not give India a separate upload limit.
Accounts are limited to uploads of up to 15 minutes by default. To upload a longer video, verify the Google account first. YouTube’s upload-limit guidance also notes that some older videos longer than 12 hours may remain available because the platform has changed its limits over time; their existence does not change the current maximum.

A “24/7 streaming service” generally belongs to the second column. It continuously sends a live feed to YouTube, potentially looping prerecorded videos. It does not make a single oversized ordinary upload exempt from YouTube’s size or duration cap.

Upload a large prerecorded video from India
- Check the file. Confirm it is no larger than 256 GB and no longer than 12 hours. If it exceeds either limit, reduce the file size or duration in video-editing software; a streaming service cannot raise YouTube’s upload cap.
- Verify the account if needed. YouTube requires account verification for videos longer than 15 minutes. Complete that step before trying to upload a longer file.
- Upload through YouTube Studio. Use YouTube’s ordinary video-upload workflow for the finished file. Live encoder settings such as a stream key, bitrate, or keyframe interval are not requirements for this upload workflow.
- Allow for transfer time. A large file can take a long time to transfer, and a stable connection helps. The official guidance reviewed does not set a minimum upload speed for India, so the time depends on the file and the connection available to you.
Set up continuous 24/7 playback instead
For nonstop playback, YouTube’s encoder workflow sends a live feed using a server URL and stream key. The channel must be verified and must not have live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. YouTube’s encoder guidance identifies Gyre as a cloud-based option for 24/7 streaming of prerecorded videos; this identifies a service category, not a guarantee of its current availability in India, uptime, or price.
Check outbound bandwidth and stream format
For live ingest, check upload bandwidth, not just download speed. YouTube recommends leaving 20% headroom above the total bitrate of the stream. This recommendation applies to a live feed; it is not a speed requirement for uploading a finished video file.
For RTMP ingest, YouTube’s error guidance expects H.264 video and AAC audio. An incompatible stream format can prevent proper ingestion. YouTube also documents HLS ingest for supported setups; it requires a compatible encoder and specified segment and playlist settings, and has higher latency than RTMP. Use HLS only when the encoder and workflow support it.
Prepare and monitor the live stream
- Set up the encoder and stream early enough to confirm the channel receives a preview.
- Check that the stream’s archive is intact and monitor stream quality while it runs.
- Keep the stream key private. Anyone with access to it may be able to send a feed to your channel.

The upload is rejected for being too large or too long
Check both limits: 256 GB and 12 hours, with the lower one controlling. Compress the file or shorten it. Using a 24/7 live-streaming service does not change the limit for an ordinary upload.
You cannot upload a video longer than 15 minutes
Verify the Google account. Verification is required for longer uploads, up to YouTube’s current maximum.

The live stream will not start or ingest correctly
Confirm the channel meets YouTube’s live-stream eligibility requirements, then check the server URL, stream key, encoder compatibility, and stream format. For RTMP, YouTube expects H.264 video and AAC audio.
The live stream buffers or drops
Check the available outbound bandwidth against the stream’s total bitrate and leave the recommended 20% headroom. Download speed alone does not establish that the connection can sustain a live feed.
The upload is slow from India
YouTube’s reviewed guidance does not specify a separate India upload-speed threshold or promise a particular transfer time. Check the actual upload connection and allow enough time for the file transfer; the live-stream bandwidth recommendation does not determine ordinary upload speed.
Copyright and channel rules still apply
Using a prerecorded video in a continuous stream does not change YouTube’s platform rules. Make sure you have the rights needed for the video and audio, and confirm the channel remains eligible to live stream. Account eligibility and technical acceptance do not themselves establish that the content is permitted or eligible for monetization.
