Possibly, but a 24/7 YouTube stream is not a reliable shortcut to 1,000 subscribers. It gives viewers more chances to find and watch your content, but YouTube publishes no figure showing how many subscribers continuous streaming typically generates. Discovery depends on factors beyond duration, and reaching 1,000 subscribers is only one part of YouTube Partner Program eligibility.
What a 24/7 stream can—and cannot—do for growth
A continuous stream keeps content available whenever a potential viewer arrives. That can create opportunities to discover a channel, watch, and subscribe. But availability is not the same as discovery: YouTube does not document a special recommendation boost or a typical subscriber-conversion rate for streams that run around the clock.
YouTube’s live-stream guidance says vertical live streams can appear in the Shorts feed, where viewers can scroll through live streams; horizontal live streams do not appear there. That is a documented format difference, not proof that vertical streaming—or a 24/7 schedule—will result in more subscribers. See YouTube’s live-stream setup guidance.
For a small channel, the stream still needs a clear reason to watch and return: a recognizable topic, content suited to the intended audience, and a format that encourages community interaction. Treat the stream as one part of a channel strategy, not as a substitute for making content people want to revisit.

Reaching 1,000 subscribers is not enough for YPP
YouTube’s Partner Program overview lists two main eligibility routes: 1,000 subscribers plus 4,000 qualified public watch hours during the previous 12 months, or 1,000 subscribers plus 10 million qualified public Shorts views during the previous 90 days. Meeting a threshold lets a channel apply; YouTube reviews the channel, and approval is not automatic. Requirements include policy compliance, availability in an eligible country or region, no active Community Guidelines strikes, two-step verification, access to advanced features, and an AdSense for YouTube account. Check YouTube’s current YPP eligibility overview for the applicable requirements.
Do livestream watch hours count?
They may count toward the public watch-hour route when the livestream is public and its replay is retained as a VOD. YouTube excludes livestreams that are unlisted, deleted, or not converted to VOD from the qualified public watch-hour threshold. A stream can therefore attract viewers or subscribers without contributing eligible hours if its archive does not meet those conditions.
Subscribers and watch hours are separate measures. A stream might add eligible viewing time without persuading many viewers to subscribe, or gain subscribers without producing enough eligible public watch hours. Track each outcome separately.

Choose a stream format for its actual trade-offs

The platform’s format and setup information describes the differences. Check the current YouTube interface and feature availability before choosing: which format is preferable depends on your content and goals, and neither format guarantees subscriber growth.

YouTube recommends promoting a scheduled stream in advance, including sharing its link at least 48 hours before it starts. It also says a public archive can increase the reach of future streams. - Schedule the stream and share its link ahead of time.
- Keep the replay public if you want its eligible viewing time to contribute to the public watch-hour threshold.
- Organize the replay and useful highlight clips into playlists so viewers can find related material.
- Make the stream’s topic and purpose apparent, and give viewers a reason to join the conversation or return.
Run a measured experiment instead of assuming duration works
If you try continuous streaming, define a test period and compare it with a relevant baseline, such as the same channel before the stream or a comparable period without it. Record subscriber gains, returning viewers, traffic sources, average concurrent viewers, and eligible public watch hours. Interpret changes cautiously: this comparison can help you decide whether the format is useful for your channel, but it cannot by itself establish that 24/7 duration caused the result.
Rights, rules, and monetization still apply
YouTube’s live-stream terms require you to have the necessary rights to the material you broadcast. Before leaving a stream running, check the rights for all video, music, and other content in the loop, and follow YouTube’s Community Guidelines. Eligible YPP channels may have access to advertising revenue and other live monetization features, but availability varies by feature. Reaching 1,000 subscribers does not automatically enable every monetization option. See YouTube’s live monetization information.
Keep a YouTube stream running: DIY or cloud
YouTube supports several ways to go live, including a webcam, a mobile device, and streaming software or an encoder. A webcam is optional, not a prerequisite for subscriber growth. YouTube’s setup page and live-stream tips explain supported approaches. For a continuous stream, choose a setup that can keep broadcasting reliably and that you can monitor; the specific method depends on your equipment and content.
