For a lighter workload, the ASUS NUC 14 Essential is a possible alternative, but neither has been independently verified for uninterrupted 24/7 YouTube streaming. Choose by what the stream has to do
The right PC depends less on the phrase “24/7 streaming” than on the work happening before the video reaches YouTube. A pre-rendered playlist, an OBS scene with cameras and overlays, and a live console or camera capture all place different demands on the machine.
- Looping pre-rendered videos: Prioritize low idle power, reliable wired networking, enough storage, and cooling suitable for continuous operation. You may not need a powerful CPU or discrete graphics card.
- Compositing scenes in OBS: Leave more CPU or GPU headroom and verify that the intended operating system and OBS setup can use the hardware encoder. A vendor’s encoder specification does not establish OBS compatibility by itself.
- Capturing a camera or console: Check capture-card compatibility with the source, resolution and frame rate, available ports, operating-system drivers, and audio synchronization. HDMI-input streaming appears in a Government of Goa procurement specification, but that specification is not a consumer capture-card recommendation.
For an India-based channel, test the actual wired upload connection at the location and during the hours you expect to stream. Upload reliability can vary by ISP, plan, and locality; an India-focused build guide recommends repeated wired tests and checking the destination platform’s current bitrate guidance (GetPC.co.in).
Best specification-based mini-PC candidate: GIGABYTE BRIX GB-BRU5-225H
GIGABYTE’s India product page lists a Core Ultra 5 225H rated at 28 W, Intel Arc graphics, and “Dedicated AVI encode HW.” The BRIX is a compact, sub-0.5 L barebone system with DDR5 SO-DIMM support up to 96 GB (GIGABYTE product specifications).

Those specifications make it the more capable-looking of the two mini-PC candidates for an OBS workflow that may need compositing or hardware encoding. They do not show measured wall power, sustained-stream performance, OBS encoder support, or reliability over extended operation. The 28 W figure describes the processor rating, not the complete PC’s power consumption.
What to confirm before buying
- Ask the seller to confirm the exact India SKU and whether RAM, SSD, and power adapter are included; the product is listed as barebone.
- Confirm in writing the warranty, service process, and availability of replacement parts.
- Check that your chosen operating system and streaming software expose a hardware encoder supported by the installed graphics hardware. GIGABYTE’s AVI-encoding specification alone does not establish that.
- Ask whether the BIOS can restart the system automatically after a power interruption, and test the behavior yourself if possible.
Lighter-workload alternative: ASUS NUC 14 Essential
ASUS describes the NUC 14 Essential as a power-efficient Core N-series mini PC for lightweight office productivity and embedded applications. Its product page lists a 0.56 L chassis, 2.5G LAN, Wi-Fi 6E, upgrade access, and support for up to three 4K displays (ASUS NUC 14 Essential).

That makes it a plausible option to investigate for a simpler, lighter stream, but the published description does not establish that a particular configuration can encode a complex, continuous OBS stream reliably. Get workload-specific performance evidence before choosing it for scenes, multiple inputs, or demanding encoding.
When a discrete encoder makes sense
Intel describes its Arc A380 as an option for a dedicated streaming rig, media server, or secondary encoding card (Intel Arc A-series overview). This is vendor guidance, not an independent comparison. A discrete card can add encoding capability, but it also adds purchase cost and system power, so it is not the default choice when minimizing a PC’s footprint and energy use.

Check 24/7 suitability beyond the spec sheet
A compact PC is not automatically a good always-on PC. Before committing to a machine, assess the whole system under the stream you actually plan to run.
- Power: Measure wall draw at idle and during a sustained stream with an energy meter. A processor’s rated power is not a substitute for the complete system’s measured consumption.
- Thermals and noise: Check temperatures and fan behavior during a long run in the intended location. The available product specifications do not establish long-duration thermals, noise, or stability for these retail configurations.
- Network: Prefer wired Ethernet where practical and test upload stability repeatedly during your planned broadcast hours.
- Recovery: Check automatic restart after power loss and how the stream behaves after an internet interruption. Confirm that your streaming setup can be restarted without someone being physically present.
- Inputs and software: For cameras or consoles, verify capture resolution and frame rate, driver support, ports, and audio sync. For OBS, confirm encoder availability on the exact configuration and operating system.
The Government of Goa Directorate of Information Technology specifies a 30 W maximum for one particular streaming and recording system, with the document’s rate validity through 2027-01-29. That limit applies to that specified procurement system, not to these mini PCs or to YouTube streaming generally (Goa Directorate of Information Technology).

India buying checks and running costs
Current India prices, stock, warranty terms, exact bundled configurations, and long-duration streaming results have not been established for these shortlisted models. Treat a price or retailer listing you find as specific to that seller and SKU, and verify what is included before comparing totals.
- Ask the seller to identify the exact model and included RAM, SSD, and power adapter.
- Confirm India warranty coverage, service location, and the process for a repair or replacement.
- Check automatic-restart behavior after a power cut and confirm the PC can reconnect to the network.
- Measure idle and sustained-stream wall power before estimating monthly electricity costs.
- Use your local electricity tariff and actual operating hours to calculate cost. Without measured watts and your tariff, a credible monthly estimate cannot be given.
