You can schedule several YouTube livestreams from one OBS setup by creating a separate event for each broadcast in YouTube Studio, then connecting OBS to the stream URL and key for the event you are about to run. OBS does not automatically switch among scheduled events or their keys. If you mean broadcasting several streams at the same time, that is a separate multi-output setup.

First decide what “multiple livestreams” means

There are three different workflows that are easy to confuse:

  • Several events at different times on one channel: Schedule each event in YouTube Studio. Use OBS to send the feed for the event that is about to start.
  • Several events live at the same time: You need multiple active outputs or encoder feeds, and must account for YouTube’s stream limits.
  • One OBS production sent to several channels: This is multi-output streaming. A scheduled event still needs its own correct destination details; multi-output software is not, by itself, an event scheduler.

The steps below cover the common case first: multiple upcoming broadcasts, one at a time, from the same OBS installation.

Schedule separate YouTube events for broadcasts at different times

1. Create an event for each broadcast

  1. In YouTube Studio, select Create > Go Live, then open the Manage tab.
  2. Select Schedule Stream.
  3. Create a new event for each broadcast, or reuse settings when the earlier event’s details are appropriate. For each event, review its title, visibility, date and time, and other metadata.

A scheduled event has its own watch page. Scheduling also lets you share the stream URL in advance and allows viewers to set reminders. YouTube documents this workflow in Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.

2. Check the event’s stream details before configuring OBS

Open the details for the event you intend to broadcast. Use that event’s stream URL and stream key in OBS. A stream key tells the encoder where to send its feed and lets YouTube accept it; treat the key like a password and do not publish it.

YouTube allows creators to create and reuse keys. Reusing event settings copies the stream key along with metadata and settings, so do not assume a new scheduled event has a different key—or that its copied details are correct for your intended broadcast. Confirm that OBS is pointed at the event you mean to start. See Manage live stream settings.

3. Start OBS early and verify the matching preview

  1. Open OBS and configure its streaming service and stream details for the event you are about to run.
  2. Start the encoder early enough for YouTube to receive the feed. YouTube advises setting up encoders at least two hours before a livestream and recommends starting them at least 15 minutes before the scheduled event.
  3. In the event’s Live Control Room, wait for the preview. Check that it shows the intended feed and that the stream health is acceptable.
  4. When you are ready to begin the public event, select Go live in Live Control Room.
  5. When the broadcast is over, end it in Live Control Room and stop sending from OBS as directed by YouTube.

YouTube’s preparation advice is in YouTube live streaming tips. Starting OBS does not itself mean the scheduled event is live: verify the preview and use Live Control Room to start the event.

What OBS does—and does not—schedule

OBS sends an encoder feed to a streaming destination. Its output API describes streaming and recording outputs, including service-bound RTMP outputs, but does not document a calendar or scheduled-event selector that automatically chooses the next YouTube event and key. The documented workflow is to select the event details, connect the encoder, check the preview, and start the event in Live Control Room.

For a run of events at different times, plan to select or verify the right event details before each broadcast. If you reuse a stream key, verify the event and preview just as carefully as when you change keys.

If you mean simultaneous streams

Same production to several destinations

To send the same OBS program output to multiple YouTube channels or other destinations, you need a multi-output approach rather than just several scheduled events. The OBS Project forum lists a third-party Multiple RTMP Outputs add-on for sending to multiple platforms or channels.

That resource does not establish that the add-on automatically creates scheduled YouTube events or chooses the correct key for each one. Before a public broadcast, configure each destination with the corresponding event details and test an unlisted event; confirm the preview at every destination. The forum resource is older, so check its current compatibility and installation guidance for your OBS version and operating system rather than assuming a particular setup will work.

Different feeds or scenes at once

If you need distinct feeds rather than the same program sent to several destinations, determine how each feed will be produced and sent. The OBS API documents output components, but the reviewed documentation does not establish a universal one-click workflow for scheduling multiple distinct YouTube events from one OBS setup. Test the exact arrangement, destinations, and event details before relying on it for a public broadcast.

Know YouTube’s documented active-stream limits

YouTube Help reports a limit of 10 active streams per channel and 3 active streams per stream key. These are platform limits, not a promise that your computer, channel, or network can sustain that number of simultaneous broadcasts. YouTube’s guidance does not establish a specific upload-speed requirement or hardware load for multi-output streaming.

Troubleshooting event and OBS setup problems

  • The scheduled event has no preview: Check that OBS is sending to the intended event’s stream URL and key, that the encoder is running, and that you opened the matching event in Live Control Room. Allow time for the feed to appear, then check stream health.
  • The wrong event shows the feed: Stop and confirm the selected event and its stream details before reconnecting. If you reused settings, remember that the key and metadata may have been copied from an earlier event.
  • The event is scheduled, but viewers cannot watch it yet: Scheduling creates the event page; it does not automatically make the broadcast live. Check the preview and start the event with Go live in Live Control Room.
  • A simultaneous destination does not receive the feed: Verify that destination’s URL and key independently and check its own preview. Do not assume that configuring one output configures every destination or event.
  • You hit an active-stream limit: Check how many streams are active on the channel and on the key. YouTube’s documented caps are 10 per channel and 3 per key; reduce active streams or organize the broadcast plan accordingly.

Or let it run in the cloud

If the goal is keeping a prerecorded YouTube stream running continuously rather than scheduling separate live events from OBS, StreamNeo is a cloud option. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. StreamNeo loops uploaded videos from the cloud, so no computer or home connection has to stay on.

  • One flat price per slot for any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps, with no re-encode or quality tiers.
  • Automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream.
  • The first day is free with no card.

The monthly option is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo is for uploaded videos streaming to YouTube; it does not go live from a camera. To try it, start your free day with StreamNeo.
