YouTube Studio does not provide a documented weekly recurrence toggle for live streams. To run a meditation session every week, schedule each occurrence in Live Control Room under Manage → Schedule stream, using Reuse settings to carry forward the previous session’s setup. Share each scheduled watch page in advance, then start your encoder and confirm the stream at the appointed time.
What you need before scheduling
YouTube says a channel must be verified, have had no livestreaming restrictions in the previous 90 days, and be operated by a creator who is at least 16 to livestream. Review YouTube’s current eligibility and setup guidance in Get started with live streaming; eligibility and interface details can change.
Decide whether you will stream directly from a webcam or mobile device, or use an encoder. An encoder is useful when you want more production control, such as an external microphone or overlays; YouTube lists microphones among typical encoder hardware. A microphone is optional for a silent meditation.
Schedule each meditation session in YouTube Studio
- Open YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live, then open Live Control Room.
- Choose Manage → Schedule stream.
- For a repeat session, select Reuse settings to copy the prior stream’s metadata and settings, including its stream key, where applicable. Select Create new to start without copying. The official Studio workflow schedules individual streams; it does not document automatic weekly recurrence.
- Review the copied title, description, schedule, privacy, thumbnail, and other editable settings. Set the correct date and time for this occurrence. Include the time zone in your own publishing checklist or audience-facing announcement so viewers know which local time you mean.
- Make the title and description specific: tell viewers whether the session is guided or silent, its intended audience, and its duration if known. Choose the privacy setting that fits your audience and sharing plan.
- Save the scheduled stream and share its watch-page URL. YouTube says scheduled streams may appear as upcoming in subscribers’ feeds, where viewers can select Notify me.

Prepare the meditation experience
Set expectations before viewers arrive
Use a quiet welcome or holding screen rather than an abrupt start. Make clear whether viewers should expect spoken guidance, silence, beginner instruction, or a particular practice length. These are production choices, not YouTube requirements.
Choose chat and moderation settings
If the session is intended to be silent or uninterrupted, decide before scheduling whether chat should be enabled and how comments will be moderated. YouTube’s live stream settings include comment moderation choices; check the selected options for each occurrence, especially when reusing prior settings.

Check music rights before rehearsal
Do not assume a track is cleared for livestreaming just because it is available online. YouTube for Artists advises creators planning to use copyright-protected music during a livestream to coordinate with their label or distributor to avoid issues such as copyright strikes. Use a trailer only if eligible
YouTube says scheduled streams can have trailers, but the feature requires more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes. If eligible, a short invitation video can explain the meditation and help viewers understand what to expect.

Choose horizontal or vertical framing deliberately
YouTube’s current live documentation describes horizontal and vertical experiences, with mobile discovery advantages for vertical. Choose the format that suits your visual framing and intended audience, and verify the options shown in Studio before publishing because availability and features can change.
Start and end the live stream at the scheduled time
- At the scheduled time, configure your encoder with YouTube’s stream URL and stream key. Keep the key private: YouTube describes stream keys as password-like credentials.
- Start sending the feed from your encoder. Wait for the preview to appear in Live Control Room.
- Check that the preview, audio, title, and selected scheduled event are correct, then click Go live in Live Control Room.
- When the meditation is finished, stop the encoder and end the stream. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived.
If a stream key is exposed, reset it in Live Control Room and update the encoder with the replacement. When reusing settings, confirm that the intended session is selected before going live; the same key can make setup easier, but it does not eliminate the need to check the event.

When to use YouTube Studio or the API

For programmatic recurring events, YouTube’s API model uses one reusable liveStream resource bound to separate scheduled liveBroadcast resources. If broadcasts might overlap, YouTube describes separate stream resources as a suitable approach. This is an API pattern, not a recurrence control in Studio. Common problems and fixes
- You cannot start a livestream: Check channel verification, creator age, and whether the channel has had livestreaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Consult YouTube’s eligibility guidance.
- The wrong title, time, privacy, or thumbnail appears: Reused settings carry details forward. Open the scheduled occurrence and review its editable fields before sharing the watch-page URL.
- The encoder is sending, but the event is not live: Wait for the preview in Live Control Room and click Go live. Sending the feed alone does not complete the documented Studio go-live sequence.
- The encoder cannot connect after a key change: Confirm that it has the current stream key and stream URL. Reset an exposed key in Live Control Room, then update the encoder.
- Protected music causes a rights concern: Pause use of the track until you have coordinated with the relevant label or distributor; online availability alone does not establish livestream permission.
- Two events may overlap: The common API pattern uses one event live at a time. For possible overlap or separate shows, consider separate stream resources and account for the added configuration.
