Its pricing page lists 24/7 Streams on Enterprise, but does not publish a numeric price. Before committing, get a quote and written answers about continuous-operation limits, interruption recovery, and support. Switchboard’s pricing page identifies the plan feature; it is not an uptime guarantee.
What Switchboard Live offers for continuous streaming
Switchboard Live is a multistream-management service, not a complete production setup on its own. Its FAQ says you need a live-stream encoder and destination accounts; it documents RTMP ingest and compatibility with live-streaming applications. If you already have compatible encoder software or hardware, the available documentation does not say you need to buy a dedicated encoder.
The pricing page places “24/7 Streams” on Enterprise. That establishes that the feature is listed for that plan, not what operating conditions, recovery behavior, or service guarantees come with it. Ask Switchboard what its 24/7 entitlement covers before using it for a channel where an interruption matters.
How much does Switchboard Live cost?
The public pricing page describes monthly or annual seat-based licenses, but the retrieved page content does not state a numeric Enterprise price. You will need to request a quote. Ask for the total cost for your number of seats and workflows, and whether any setup, archive, or support requirements affect the quote.

What to verify before choosing it for a 24/7 channel
Continuous operation, recovery, and support
The available product information does not establish an uptime commitment, how the service responds if an input or destination disconnects, or how quickly support can help during an outage. Ask for the applicable written uptime terms, recovery process, escalation route, and support hours. If uninterrupted operation is essential, do not treat the presence of a “24/7 Streams” plan feature as proof of uninterrupted service.
Encoder and workflow fit
Confirm that your encoder can send an RTMP feed in the format your setup uses. Switchboard’s connection guide instructs operators to check that the encoder feed appears in the confidence monitor before selecting Go Live. This gives you a way to verify the incoming feed during setup, but it does not by itself establish how the service handles a later failure.

Destination limits
Switchboard’s homepage markets unlimited simultaneous destinations, while its FAQ says a single workflow can contain at most 30. These statements may apply to different scopes or reflect a documentation mismatch. Ask Switchboard to confirm the current limit that applies to your specific workflow and destinations before planning around either figure.
Archives and storage
Switchboard’s FAQ says it does not store or archive video in the described workflow, while its pricing page lists archives for certain plans and an archive-destination feature. Confirm which plan and archive behavior apply to your use case, including where recordings go and how long they remain available. Do not assume the continuous-streaming feature also provides the retention you need.

YouTube prerequisites and policy checks
Switchboard’s connection guide says live streaming must be enabled before authorization, and activation can take up to 24 hours. YouTube requires the channel to be verified and not to have had live-stream restrictions in the previous 90 days. YouTube also publishes simultaneous-stream caps of 10 active streams per channel and 3 per stream key. Check the current requirements on YouTube’s live-streaming help page before setup.
Content streamed through a service still has to comply with YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. The available documentation does not determine whether a particular loop, rebroadcast, or reused-content format is acceptable. Review the rights and policies that apply to the actual video; the copyright safety checklist can help organize that review.

How to decide whether Switchboard is worth it
Compare the Enterprise quote and workflow against your current setup using the questions that matter for a continuous channel:
- Continuity: What happens when the encoder feed, destination connection, or service itself is interrupted? Is recovery automatic, and what written uptime commitment applies?
- Total cost: What is the quote for the required seats and workflows, and what costs or plan requirements apply to archives and support?
- Capacity: What destination limit applies to your workflow, given the different statements on the homepage and in the FAQ?
- Operations: Does your current encoder work with the documented RTMP ingest, and who monitors and restarts the feed if needed?
- Retention: Does the relevant plan archive the stream in the way you need, or will you need a separate destination or recording process?
Switchboard is a plausible option when managed multistreaming is central to your workflow and its Enterprise quote and operating terms meet your needs. If your main requirement is dependable 24/7 operation, make the decision conditional on written answers about recovery, uptime, limits, and support—not on the feature name alone.
