To loop yoga videos in a YouTube Live broadcast, play the files through an encoder such as OBS: use OBS’s VLC Video source for several files and enable Loop Playlist, or use a Media Source with Loop for one long file. A YouTube playlist is only a collection of watch-page videos; it does not feed those videos into a live broadcast by itself.
Choose how your yoga content will repeat
| Your content | OBS source | Repeat setting |
|---|---|---|
| One prepared video file | Media Source | Enable Loop to restart the file when it ends. |
| Several prepared files in a chosen sequence | VLC Video | Enable Loop Playlist to restart the list after its final item. |
OBS documents these source options in its Media Sources guide. VLC must be installed for the VLC Video source; if OBS is 64-bit, OBS specifies that VLC must also be 64-bit.
Set up a looping yoga broadcast with OBS
- Prepare your media. Gather the video or audio files you are authorized to broadcast. Decide whether the session uses one long file or multiple items. If the order matters, prepare the files in that sequence.
- Confirm YouTube Live access. In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create or schedule a live event. YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance says a channel must be verified and have no live-stream restrictions in the preceding 90 days to enable live streaming. Choose encoder streaming and note the setup values displayed for the event.
- Create an OBS scene and add a source. For one local file, add a Media Source and select the file. For multiple local files, add a VLC Video source. If VLC Video is not available, install VLC; use the 64-bit edition with 64-bit OBS.
- Set the repeat behavior. For Media Source, select Loop. For VLC Video, add the files to its playlist in the intended order, leave shuffle off if sequence matters, and select Loop Playlist. OBS treats shuffle and looping as separate controls.
- Connect OBS to the YouTube event. Enter the stream setup values shown in the Live Control Room in OBS’s stream settings. Keep the stream key private; anyone with access to it may be able to send a broadcast to your channel.
- Start and verify. Start streaming from OBS, then check the incoming preview or status in YouTube Studio. When the feed is ready, start the broadcast in the Live Control Room if required by the event workflow. Confirm that the video is playing and that the loop setting remains enabled.
- Monitor playback and the broadcast. With this local setup, the computer, OBS, media source, and internet connection all need to remain available while the broadcast runs. OBS’s source documentation does not promise unattended operation or automatic recovery after an interruption.
Keep music and video rights clear
A song being available on YouTube, or appearing in a personal YouTube playlist, does not by itself grant permission to rebroadcast it during a live stream. YouTube says it scans live streams for third-party content; unresolved matches can lead to interruption or termination. Its copyright guidance for live streams also notes that even licensed material may require the rights holder to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist.
- Before scheduling, confirm that your permission covers the specific live-stream use, including the video and music in it.
- If you have a license, check whether the rights holder must allowlist your channel in Content ID.
- If YouTube flags the broadcast, review the warning or strike in YouTube Studio and address the identified third-party content.
YouTube’s playlist instructions explain how to create and manage playlists. That feature organizes YouTube videos for viewing; an OBS source is what supplies local media to the encoder broadcast.

Troubleshoot a playlist that will not loop or go live
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| One video stops at the end. | Media Source looping is off. | Open the source properties and enable Loop. |
| The playlist stops after its last item. | Playlist looping is off or the wrong source is in use. | Use VLC Video for multiple files and enable Loop Playlist. |
| VLC Video is missing in OBS. | VLC is not installed, or its architecture does not match OBS. | Install VLC; OBS specifies 64-bit VLC when using 64-bit OBS. |
| YouTube will not allow the channel to go live. | The channel may not meet eligibility requirements or may have a live-stream restriction. | Check verification and any restriction from the preceding 90 days in YouTube Studio and YouTube Help. |
| The stream is interrupted or terminated. | YouTube may have detected third-party content, or the local encoder/network may have stopped sending. | Review YouTube Studio warnings or strikes and the identified content; check that OBS, the source, computer, and network remain active. |
Or let it run in the cloud
For a prerecorded yoga playlist that should keep a YouTube channel live without leaving a home computer on, StreamNeo runs uploaded videos from the cloud. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It plays uploaded videos rather than broadcasting from a camera.
- Nothing has to stay on at home; the stream runs from the cloud.
- Each slot streams the uploaded quality, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot, with no re-encode or quality tiers.
- It can recover automatically if YouTube drops the stream.
- The first day is free with no card required.
The monthly option is $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo for details, or start the free first day.
