To schedule an edited video as a YouTube live broadcast with OneStream Live, first connect your YouTube channel, then open Pre-recorded Stream, add the video, select YouTube as the destination, enter the stream details and click Schedule Broadcast. You can also attach the video to an existing YouTube event or set it to repeat.

Before you schedule: connect YouTube and check eligibility

In OneStream Live, open Social Platforms, add or connect YouTube, choose the account and channel, select a category, and complete the connection. The linked channel should then be available as a destination when you schedule a prerecorded stream. The exact labels may vary as OneStream updates its interface. OneStream’s YouTube connection guide, updated August 18, 2026, describes this setup.

Also check YouTube’s prerequisites before troubleshooting OneStream: according to YouTube Help (accessed October 3, 2026), the channel must be verified, must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days, and the person streaming must be at least 16 years old.

Schedule a single prerecorded broadcast

  1. Open the prerecorded workflow. In OneStream Live, select Pre-recorded Stream, then click Add Videos.
  2. Choose the recording. Select a video from your device, OneStream storage, or a supported cloud service such as Google Drive or Dropbox. Select the content and continue.
  3. Select YouTube as the destination. Choose the connected channel that should carry the broadcast.
  4. Enter the stream details. Add the title and description, and review available fields such as tags and thumbnail. Choose the scheduled date and time. Review any announcement settings shown in your version of the workflow.
  5. Schedule it. Review the destination and details, then click Schedule Broadcast.

This is the video source → destination → stream details → scheduling flow described in OneStream’s scheduling guide, updated September 7, 2026. OneStream’s onboarding guidance also recommends adding a title, description, tags and thumbnail and reviewing announcement settings. The precise controls can depend on the workflow version.

Attach a video to an existing YouTube event

If you already created the YouTube event, use OneStream’s existing-event route rather than scheduling a separate broadcast:

  1. Confirm that the intended YouTube channel is connected in OneStream.
  2. Create a stream and select Pre-recorded, then choose Existing Event.
  3. Select the YouTube event you want to use and add the video.
  4. Review the event’s title, description, thumbnail, privacy setting and date/time.
  5. Click Schedule Broadcast.

These steps follow OneStream’s existing-event instructions. Check the selected event carefully before scheduling so the recording is associated with the intended broadcast.

Make a prerecorded stream repeat

For a recurring broadcast, use OneStream’s repeat option instead of creating each schedule separately. After choosing the video, destination, stream details and start time, turn on Repeat Stream. Set Repeats Every to an interval in days or weeks, then choose the occurrence count. Review the resulting schedule before confirming it. OneStream documents this flow in its recurring prerecorded stream guide.

Announcements and advanced options

A scheduled YouTube live stream may appear as an upcoming event in subscribers’ feeds. Viewers can select Notify me, and YouTube says it sends a notification when the scheduled stream is about to begin. OneStream also describes an Announce Stream option and an announcement time. These are separate controls: review the options in OneStream and the event’s YouTube page rather than assuming one automatically configures the other. See YouTube’s live-stream settings guidance.

OneStream’s advanced scheduling documentation, updated July 7, 2026, lists video orientation (180°/360°), deleting the VOD after a stream, YouTube DVR, YouTube Kids designation and YouTube monetization. The article says advanced scheduling is supported on Standard and higher-tier plans. Because controls and plan availability can change, check what is available in your current account. Monetization remains subject to YouTube channel eligibility and platform rules. See OneStream’s advanced-options guide.

Check the schedule and troubleshoot problems

  • YouTube is not available as a destination: Open Social Platforms and confirm the correct YouTube account and channel are connected. Recheck channel verification and any live-stream restrictions under YouTube’s eligibility rules.
  • The recording is associated with the wrong event: Reopen the schedule details and confirm whether you selected Existing Event and the intended event, rather than creating a new broadcast.
  • The stream is not repeating as expected: Review whether Repeat Stream is enabled, then check the interval in days or weeks and the occurrence count.
  • Viewers cannot find the upcoming broadcast: Check the scheduled event’s visibility and details on YouTube, and review the announcement settings available in OneStream. YouTube’s upcoming-event notification behavior applies to scheduled streams; it does not replace checking the event page.
  • An advanced control is missing: Check your current OneStream plan and account interface. The cited OneStream guide places advanced scheduling on Standard and higher-tier plans, but feature availability may change.

OneStream’s scheduling workflow is cloud-hosted and differs from configuring an encoder on a computer. YouTube’s advice to set up an encoder two hours ahead, start it at least 15 minutes before the event and preview it in Live Control Room is specifically for encoder workflows; those timings are not stated OneStream requirements. For any important broadcast, schedule and review the event in advance and confirm its details and accessibility. YouTube’s encoder guidance is at YouTube Help.
