To run cabin rain ambience on YouTube around the clock, either loop and encode a video on a computer that stays powered and connected, or upload a video or playlist to a cloud streaming service that sends it to YouTube. In both cases, verify your channel can livestream, use audio and visuals you have rights to, test the loop and stream before launch, and keep a separate local master and archive plan.
Choose how the stream will run
The key difference is what must stay available after you start. A local encoder sends the video from your own computer over your internet connection; a cloud service sends uploaded files from its infrastructure. Neither approach removes the need to check the broadcast or clear the content rights.

Choose local encoding if you want hands-on control, have a dependable computer and upload connection, and are comfortable maintaining them. Choose cloud hosting if you do not want home equipment to run continuously. YouTube lists Gyre among tools for 24/7 streaming of prerecorded content, but that listing is not an endorsement of provider claims or a promise of monetization. Check YouTube eligibility and prepare the content
Confirm the channel can livestream
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days, and streamers must be at least 16. Check the channel’s current livestream eligibility before preparing a launch; a restriction can prevent the broadcast regardless of your encoder or hosting method. Clear every sound and image
Use rain recordings, music, artwork, and video that you created or are properly licensed to use for live streaming and archived playback. Check that each license covers YouTube, the territories where viewers may watch, continuous streaming, and retained replays, and keep records of the license terms. A license alone may not prevent an interruption: YouTube says licensed third-party content can still trigger a live interruption if the rightsholder has not allowlisted your channel through Content ID.
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted material in another live broadcast. An unresolved match can interrupt or terminate a stream, and the resulting archive may receive a Content ID claim. Read YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams before going live.

Make the ambience loop comfortable
Before launch, play the complete loop repeatedly and listen for abrupt seams, silence, clipping, sudden rain-intensity changes, or transitions that could disturb sleep or focus. Check the image for unexpected cuts or flashes. These are production checks, not YouTube requirements, but they matter for an ambience stream that viewers may leave playing for hours.
Set up a local 24/7 stream
This route loops a prerecorded video in an encoder and sends the encoded feed to YouTube. The computer must remain on and the upload connection must remain stable for the stream to continue.

- Prepare a finished source file. Combine the cabin visuals and rain audio into a video, or configure a playback source that loops reliably. Keep a local master and confirm that the file plays correctly from beginning to end.
- Create the broadcast in YouTube Studio. Open YouTube Studio, go to Create > Go live, and configure the stream in Live Control Room. Follow the current encoder setup prompts to obtain the stream URL and stream key.
- Protect the stream key. Enter it only in your encoder’s stream settings. Treat it like a password: do not publish it, show it on screen, or share it. If it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Configure and test the encoder. Enter the YouTube stream URL and key, select the looping video source, and use an output resolution and bitrate your connection can sustain. YouTube’s encoder setup guide and stream preparation guidance provide current setup recommendations; do not assume a bitrate is safe without testing your actual upload capacity.
- Check upload headroom. Measure upload speed rather than download speed. YouTube recommends leaving 20% upload-bandwidth headroom and accounting for both primary and backup bitrates where applicable. If your upload fluctuates, reduce the output bitrate or resolution until the stream remains stable with headroom.
- Start privately or unlisted and verify the preview. Start the encoder and check Live Control Room for a healthy incoming signal. Watch and listen for dropped frames, audio/video mismatch, clipping, silence, or a broken loop before making the stream public.
- Plan for ongoing monitoring. Keep the computer powered, prevent sleep or automatic shutdown, and ensure the encoder and loop continue running. Monitor the YouTube stream and verify that any local recording is growing. A power outage, lost connection, computer restart, or encoder crash can end a local stream.
YouTube advises setting up an encoder at least two hours before a scheduled event and starting it at least 15 minutes beforehand. For a 24/7 ambience channel, treat that as a reason to complete a thorough test well before public launch, not as a requirement to schedule a conventional event. Do not assume a loop qualifies for monetization
YouTube’s monetization policy applies to live streams. Its July 15, 2025 clarification renamed “repetitious content” as “inauthentic content” to clarify that repetitive or mass-produced content is ineligible. That does not establish that every rain ambience stream is disallowed; it does mean a generic loop is no guarantee of eligibility. Make the work meaningfully original, avoid mass-producing near-identical streams, and check your channel and video against YouTube’s current monetization policies. No earnings or audience outcome is guaranteed.

Keep a separate archive
Do not rely on YouTube to preserve a complete replay of an around-the-clock stream. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but streams over 12 hours may not be captured at all, and recommends a local backup. If a complete replay matters, record it separately and check that the recording file continues to grow. See YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance.

Keep a recovery plan
- Keep the source files and a local master, even if you stream from the cloud.
- Know how you will restart the broadcast and confirm the new stream key if you need to reset an exposed key.
- After an outage, check Live Control Room, the encoder or cloud service status, the network, and the source file before restarting.
- Recheck audio and video after recovery; a connected stream can still have a silent or frozen source.
