There is no published benchmark proving one Monk setup is best in Deskrawl: Idle ARPG. A practical starting point is Threefold Strike with Sacred Judgment, then test later unlocks against your level, mana sustain, equipment and whether you are actively clearing or farming unattended. The current skill and patch details below come from an unofficial fan guide updated October 2, 2026; treat them as reported guide information, not controlled test results.
Start with Threefold Strike and Sacred Judgment
At level 1, Monk unlocks Threefold Strike, a Basic Attack. Sacred Judgment, a Strong Attack, unlocks at level 5. They make a sensible early pair, but the guide does not establish that they remain the strongest choices later. Add and compare skills as they become available rather than assuming the starting rotation stays optimal.

Build out and test the rotation as you level
At level 10, try Sacred Orbs
Sacred Orbs is the first listed Special skill. Add it to your available rotation and check how it performs alongside your attacks, including its mana cost over a sustained run.

At level 15, compare Furious Fist
Furious Fist is a second Basic Attack option, and the guide associates it with the Hundred Hands rune-set direction. Compare it with Threefold Strike in a complete rotation rather than judging only a short burst. Spirit Stream also unlocks at this level.
At level 30, test Spirit Twin over a full run
Spirit Twin arrives alongside Seismic Strike. The guide recommends testing it over a complete run; a brief encounter may not show whether a setup can sustain its performance across multiple enemy packs and potion use.

How Chain Force and Mirror Steps affect the build
The current guide reports that, in Patch 1.0.0h, Chain Force applies Vulnerable for three seconds to enemies directly hit after seven of the Monk’s own Basic Attack casts. Repeated casts and minion or summon attacks do not advance the count; dying or changing area resets it. This makes the Monk’s own attack sequence and uninterrupted uptime relevant when building around Chain Force.
The same guide reports that Mirror Steps grants 60% Physical damage for four seconds after a dodge. It also notes adjustments to Piercing Lunge and Whirlwind Staff. These patch-sensitive figures and changes are guide-reported; the linked official Steam announcement was not readable in the available source response, so the details should not be treated as independently verified here: Steam Patch 1.0.0h announcement.

Choose rune sets by attack family and rotation cost
The guide names Hundred Hands, Wheel of Nine Heavens and Serpent’s Tongue as rune-set directions, and links Hundred Hands with Furious Fist. It advises matching rune-set thresholds to the equipped attack family and checking mana use across the full rotation.
The accessible guide information does not provide a complete bonus table or a controlled comparison showing which set wins. Choose a direction that supports the attacks you actually use, then compare full rotations; there is not enough published evidence here to name a numerical best rune set.

Test for your goal, not just a damage burst
The result depends on level, unlocked skills, mana sustain, gear, enemies and whether you want active clearing or stable unattended farming. The class comparison updated September 30, 2026 describes recommendations as playstyle advice rather than measured damage rankings: Class comparison.
- Use the same zone and equipment of similar quality for each candidate setup.
- Run each setup long enough to include potion use and several enemy packs.
- Record XP per hour, deaths and interruptions, not only how quickly one pack falls.
- For unattended farming, measure the whole session; a short burst can miss downtime, deaths or mana problems.
Compare one change at a time where possible—for example, keeping the rest of the rotation steady while switching from Threefold Strike to Furious Fist. This makes it easier to tell whether a different attack or rune direction is helping your actual goal.

What current sources do—and do not—establish
A newer Monk guide updated October 2, 2026 lists a 14-skill progression and Patch 1.0.0h changes. A separate fan data reference describes Monk as demo-locked and points its entry to Warrior abilities: Deskrawl class reference. That older or demo-limited description conflicts with the newer post-release guide, so it should not be used as the current Monk progression.
Neither source establishes a universal best-in-slot build, and the available comparison does not publish controlled Monk damage, XP-rate or win-rate benchmarks. Treat Threefold Strike and Sacred Judgment as a starting setup, then use comparable full-run tests to decide what works for your character and farming conditions.
