Notebookcheck reported on October 3, 2026, that New Game++ was planned for October and Photo Mode for November; those are expected windows, not confirmation that either update has shipped. The report gives no date for the cosmetics, and the roadmap details have not been independently confirmed here through a Remedy announcement.
What additions are planned for CONTROL Resonant?
Notebookcheck’s October 3, 2026 report describes three planned additions. It does not establish that any has shipped, so check Remedy’s official channels and patch notes for current status.
- New Game++: Reportedly intended to let players start unlimited further playthroughs, expanding on the existing New Game+ mode.
- Photo Mode: Reportedly planned for November 2026. The report says Remedy consulted virtual photographers, but that explanation is secondhand and was not independently verified.
- More cosmetics for Dylan: Additional cosmetic items are reportedly planned, but the report supplies no release date. It advises watching patch notes.
When are New Game++ and Photo Mode expected?
According to Notebookcheck’s October 3 report, New Game++ was planned for October 2026 and Photo Mode for November 2026. These are reported target months, not confirmed release dates; the report does not establish whether either update arrived on schedule. No timing is provided for additional cosmetics.
How New Game++ differs from the existing New Game Plus
Remedy’s existing New Game Plus system was described by Lead Gameplay Designer Sergey Mohov in a PlayStation Blog post dated April 30, 2026. In a new run, players retain Aberrant upgrades, health and combat ability resource improvements, unlocked supernatural combat abilities, talents and artifacts. Traversal abilities remain tied to story progression and do not carry over. The reported distinction for New Game++ is that it would allow unlimited playthroughs; the roadmap report does not specify other changes to carryover or difficulty.

Why Photo Mode could suit the game
Remedy’s February 13, 2026 gameplay announcement describes expansive zones with side activities, hidden encounters and optional discoveries, as well as Gravity Anomalies that shift gravity and orientation. Those environments offer a natural context for a photo feature, although Remedy’s announcement does not frame them as a reason for Photo Mode. The same announcement named GeForce NOW support.

Remedy announced that CONTROL Resonant launched worldwide on September 24, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. The announcement also said a Mac version via Steam and the App Store would follow later in 2026. It identified Remedy as developer and publisher, with Annapurna Pictures as co-financing and co-producing partner. Remedy announced digital and physical editions, but that announcement does not establish current retailer stock or regional availability.
PlayStation Blog’s June 2 launch post describes Dylan as the sole playable character and Manhattan as warped by paranatural forces. The additional cosmetics mentioned in the roadmap report are for Dylan; no details about their appearance, distribution or availability are stated.
