If you sent a Super Chat yourself, YouTube’s policy says it is a voluntary, non-refundable payment, so there may be no refund to track. If YouTube approved a refund, check the order status in Google Payments and then look for the credit on the original payment method. If you do not recognize the charge, report it as unauthorized and track the claim separately.
First, identify which situation applies

Track an approved refund in Google Payments
- Sign in to payments.google.com with the Google Account used for the Super Chat.
- Find and open the relevant order. If it is not immediately visible, choose “View more transactions.”
- Read the order’s Status. YouTube says “Refunded” means a credit should appear on the payment method used for the purchase. “Canceled” means the order was not charged; it does not mean a refund is on its way. See Google Pay Help’s instructions for checking refund status.
- Check the original payment account: the card, bank account, or carrier account used at checkout. YouTube says refunds are returned to the payment method used for the original purchase.
How long can a YouTube refund take?
YouTube Help says most refunds are processed within five business days, but its published estimates vary by payment method. These are general estimates, not India-specific guarantees; a bank, card issuer, or mobile carrier may affect when a credit appears. The YouTube Help page does not show a publication date, and processing estimates may change.

If Google Payments shows “Refunded” but the money has not appeared after the relevant estimate, contact the bank, card provider, or carrier that handled the original payment. Give them the transaction details and the refund status. If the order says “Canceled,” there was no charge to credit; review the payment account for a separate transaction if money was nevertheless debited.
Report and track a Super Chat charge you did not authorize
Do not use the ordinary refund-status route as a substitute for reporting a charge you did not make. YouTube says unauthorized digital purchase charges should be reported within 120 days of the transaction. Start from YouTube’s unauthorized-purchase help page and follow its reporting steps.

- Submit the unauthorized-purchase report for the transaction.
- Keep the email address used to submit the report and the claim ID YouTube sends by email.
- Use the “File and track your claim” route on YouTube’s help page, with the reporting email and claim ID. YouTube says these details are needed to locate the claim.
The 120-day period is YouTube’s stated reporting window for unauthorized digital purchase charges; it is not a promise that a claim will be approved or resolved within that time.
Check whether an Android purchase went through Google Play
Some new Super Chat purchases made in the YouTube Android app are billed through Google Play; YouTube does not say that every Android purchase uses this route. For a relevant purchase, check pay.google.com for the charge and billing details. The billing record can help you identify which account or payment route to check. If YouTube approved a refund, use the order status and original payment method to confirm it, rather than assuming a particular Android billing route.

Common problems and what to check
- The order is missing: Confirm you are signed in to the Google Account used to pay, then choose “View more transactions” in Google Payments.
- The status says “Canceled”: YouTube says the order was not charged, so a refund credit is not expected for that order. If your account shows a debit, check for a different or separate transaction.
- The status says “Refunded,” but there is no credit yet: Check the original payment method and allow for the applicable published estimate. For delays beyond it, ask the relevant bank, card provider, or carrier to trace the credit.
- You cannot find an unauthorized-charge claim: Use the same email address that submitted the report and the claim ID from YouTube’s email. These are required to find the claim.
- You are unsure how the purchase was billed: Check the order details; some new Android-app Super Chats use Google Play billing, but not all do.
