Yes, viewer location can affect whether someone can buy a Super Chat and the transaction details, but YouTube does not publish a different creator percentage by country. YouTube’s published share is 70% of confirmed Supers revenue after local sales tax and applicable iOS App Store fees are deducted. It does not publish a country-by-country formula for the final amount a creator receives.
How viewer location can affect a Super Chat
Availability depends on location
Super Chat and Super Stickers are available only to viewers in locations supported by YouTube. If a viewer is outside a supported location, they cannot make a purchase through these features. Check YouTube’s current supported locations list, since availability can change.
The purchase has an amount and currency
YouTube’s Live Streaming API records a Super Chat event with a purchase amount, represented in micros, and a currency identified by an ISO 4217 code. These fields can show the amount and currency recorded for a purchase; the API documentation does not explain how YouTube sets local price tiers or calculates cross-currency creator payouts. Taxes and purchase channel can affect the calculation
YouTube says creators receive 70% of Supers revenue confirmed by Google after local sales tax and applicable iOS App Store fees are deducted. YouTube currently covers transaction costs such as credit-card fees. The deductions mean two purchases should not automatically be treated as identical just because their displayed amounts look alike: viewers may face different tax treatment or use different purchase channels. YouTube does not provide a public country-by-country net-payout formula.

Does YouTube change the creator’s percentage by country?
YouTube’s published guidance gives a general share of 70% of confirmed Supers revenue, after the specified deductions. It does not say that the creator share percentage changes based on the viewer’s country. The published 70% figure is not evidence that every purchase yields the same net amount: taxes and applicable iOS fees are deducted before the share is calculated, and the purchase amount and currency can differ.
For this reason, it is not possible to use YouTube’s public documentation to rank countries by how much creators earn from an otherwise similar Super Chat. The actual transaction record and YouTube’s reporting are more relevant than a comparison of gross displayed prices.

How to check your own Supers revenue
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Analytics.
- Open the Revenue tab.
- Under “How you make money,” review Supers. YouTube directs creators to this area for Supers reporting.
For event-level details available through the Live Streaming API, inspect the event’s amount and currency fields. Those fields identify the recorded purchase amount and currency, but do not explain YouTube’s regional pricing or the full calculation of the creator’s net payout.
Why RPM is not the payout for one Super Chat
RPM is a channel or video metric: YouTube defines it as creator revenue after YouTube’s share per 1,000 views. It can include Super Chat and Super Stickers alongside other revenue sources. Because RPM combines revenue sources and views, it is useful for broad monetization analysis but does not tell you the net proceeds from an individual Super Chat. What you can and cannot compare across locations
If you have transaction or reporting records, useful comparison points are the viewer’s purchase availability, recorded amount and currency, local sales tax deducted, whether an iOS App Store fee applied, and the confirmed revenue and creator share shown in YouTube reporting. Without those records, a gross-price comparison cannot establish which location produces more net revenue for a creator.
YouTube’s public documentation does not provide a complete current regional price table or a quantified comparison of net Super Chat proceeds across countries. It also does not establish a country multiplier or a specific exchange-rate method for creator payouts.
