The pregame report points to increased opportunity for Wilson, but it does not establish a target carry count or guarantee a workhorse role.
Why Emanuel Wilson is expected to see more work
Price was reported out for Seattle’s Chargers game with a chest injury, opening the possibility of additional backfield work for Wilson. CBS Sports and RotoWire attributed the report to Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune; neither outlet independently confirmed a specific workload plan from the coaching staff. CBS Sports’ report and RotoWire’s player news describe an expectation, not a confirmed assignment.
Wilson had already led Seattle in carries
Through Seattle’s first three games of the 2026 season, Wilson had 32 carries, ahead of Price’s 28 and George Holani’s 15. Wilson averaged 3.4 yards per carry over that span. These are season-to-date totals, not a projection for the Chargers game. CBS Sports
His recent rushing production has varied
Wilson’s two latest game lines show why a bigger role should not be confused with a guaranteed fantasy return:

More carries are possible, but the backfield is not his alone
Holani was available for the Chargers game, and Seattle team coverage also listed practice-squad options Jacardia Wright and Velus Jones. That depth makes an expanded role plausible without making Wilson’s share certain. CBS Sports’ Seahawks team coverage provides the availability and depth context.

The report characterized Wilson as a possible fantasy RB2/3 on the basis of expected volume. That is a conditional outlook, not a guarantee: opportunity may rise because Price is out, while Holani and the other listed options leave uncertainty about how Seattle divides the work.
