What was reported about Brady Clough for Week 5?
In its Oct. 2 update, RotoWire reported that Clough was out for Boston College’s Saturday game against SMU. Separately, the ACC Week 5 availability report, published Oct. 2, listed him as questionable for the Oct. 3 matchup. These are different reports, not a Boston College confirmation that he would miss the game.
The ACC report concerns player availability and does not provide a diagnosis. The pregame reports establish what was being reported before kickoff, not whether Clough ultimately played. Boston College’s 2026 schedule lists Week 5 at SMU on Oct. 3.
What is known about Clough’s earlier injury-related absences?
Boston College identifies Clough as a tight end. His official roster bio says he did not play against Maine on Sept. 19 or Virginia Tech on Sept. 26 because of injury. The bio does not name a diagnosis.

Clough made his first career start at Cincinnati on Sept. 5, recording four catches for 31 yards, according to the same Boston College bio. RotoWire’s Oct. 2 update separately gives his first-two-game totals as six catches for 50 yards on 10 targets; that is RotoWire’s aggregate, not a figure attributed here to the team.
Was Clough’s Week 5 absence confirmed?
The available pregame reporting does not establish a final game-day result. The strongest concise answer is that RotoWire reported Clough out, while the ACC availability report still listed him as questionable. Without a postgame appearance record or a later official update, it would be inaccurate to state that Boston College confirmed he did not play.
