The feature is useful for keeping apps visible together; whether it suits a particular Pokémon GO setup needs to be checked in the game itself.
What the Pixel 11 Pro Fold’s multitasking feature does
Google announced the Pixel 11 Pro Fold on August 12, 2026, and lists Split Screen among its foldable features. Its specifications give the internal folding display as 8 inches and the external display as 6.5 inches. Those screen sizes describe the hardware, not the amount of space Pokémon GO would occupy in a multitasking layout.
With split screen, two apps can be visible at once. Google also says users can save an app pair for later access. That makes it possible to bring a recurring pair of apps back together without launching each one separately, but Google’s instructions do not specifically identify Pokémon GO as compatible.
How to open two apps in split screen
- Unfold the Pixel Fold and open the first app.
- Open the taskbar, then drag a second app to one side of the screen. Google also describes routes using Overview or an app’s menu.
- Use both apps in the split-screen layout. If the pair is one you want to reopen, save it as an app pair using the available system option.
Google says the apps can continue to be used after folding the phone. This describes Pixel Fold multitasking generally; it does not establish how Pokémon GO behaves when the display is folded or another app is active.

Can a bubble make it a three-app setup?
Google’s Pixel Help documentation says a floating bubble can appear over split screen on a Pixel Fold running Android 17, creating a layout with three apps. Bubbles are not exclusive to the Pixel 11 Pro Fold: Google describes them as available on Pixel phones running Android 17, including Fold models.
The documentation explains the Android feature, not Pokémon GO compatibility. It does not confirm that Pokémon GO can be opened as a bubble, remain playable beneath one, or continue running as expected in this arrangement.

What to verify before relying on it for Pokémon GO
- Check whether Pokémon GO appears as an available app when you try to add the second split-screen app.
- Once open, check whether the game remains responsive and active while you interact with the other app.
- Assess whether the game has enough usable screen area in the layout for your needs.
- If trying a bubble, verify whether the app you want is available in bubble form and whether the game remains usable underneath it.
These are practical checks, not behaviors established by Google’s feature documentation. The sources do not report a test of Pokémon GO on the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, so compatibility and gameplay results remain unconfirmed.

Split screen is a documented foldable feature rather than a Pokémon GO-specific mode. Google’s launch announcement quotes Group Product Manager Justin Savich calling the phone “our most sophisticated foldable yet”; that is Google’s product positioning, not an independent assessment. The available documentation supports a multitasking capability, but not a claim that it causes or clinically defines an addiction.
