Canon says the EOS Rebel T3i was marketed in March 2011, making it about 15 years and 7 months old as of October 3, 2026. Canon announced it earlier, on February 14, 2011; the announcement date and market-introduction date are different milestones.
When did the Canon EOS Rebel T3i come out?
Canon Latin America announced the Rebel T3i on February 14, 2011. Canon’s Camera Museum records the camera as “Marketed | March 2011,” which is the clearest date to use when calculating how long the model has been on the market. The museum page does not state when that history entry was published.
Canon introduced the camera as a Rebel-series digital SLR aimed at beginning photographers. The model is also known as the EOS 600D in some markets.
What are the Rebel T3i’s basic specifications?
Canon’s specifications identify the T3i/600D as an approximately 18-megapixel DSLR with an EF lens mount. The mount accepts both Canon EF and EF-S lenses, and the camera records to SD, SDHC, and SDXC cards. The 18-megapixel figure is a resolution specification; by itself, it does not determine image quality.

Is the Rebel T3i still usable?
Age alone does not tell you whether a particular T3i will meet your needs. Its basic compatibility is documented, but these sources do not establish how its image quality or performance compares with current cameras, or whether a particular used unit is in good condition. For a second-hand camera, check the individual unit’s operation and condition rather than relying on the model’s age or specifications alone.
Where can owners find support and compatible accessories?
Canon’s U.S. support page provides an EOS Rebel T3i instruction manual and product specifications. Specific downloads and software compatibility can change, so check the support page for the current materials available for your model.
