King Green reportedly said he was trying to keep things cool when his friend Arnold Barboza Jr. intervened in a confrontation with Esteban Ribovics. Green’s explanation, reproduced from a Happy Punch post, was: “I was trying to be cool. That’s not the move.”
Why Green and Ribovics confronted each other
The dispute followed weigh-ins for their scheduled UFC 332 lightweight bout. MMA Mania reported that Ribovics missed the 156-pound limit while Green made weight. The outlet tied Green’s anger to the miss, despite reporting that Ribovics would have 20% of his purse deducted. Those figures and the account of the trigger come from MMA Mania’s October 3, 2026 report, not an independently verified commission record. MMA Mania’s account of the weigh-in and confrontation
What Green said Barboza got wrong
Green’s reported explanation was that he had been trying to stay calm and did not think Barboza’s intervention helped. A TwStalker page reproducing a Happy Punch post attributes the words “I was trying to be cool. That’s not the move” to Green. The original post or complete clip was not directly verified, so the fragment should not be treated as a full interview transcript or as a complete account of what Green meant. Barboza, a professional boxer and Green’s friend, was with Green outside the weigh-ins and joined the confrontation, according to MMA Mania. The report also reproduces Green shouting, “Back the f—k up! Don’t f—king touch me,” and “We can get down right now!” during the exchange.
