If your Samsung Galaxy screen looks different after an update, start with Settings > Display and check the control that matches what you see: Eye comfort shield for a warm or yellow cast, Screen mode for saturation, and Extra dim for an unusually dark screen. An update may coincide with a changed-looking display, but Samsung’s guidance does not establish that a particular update changed any setting.
Match the change to the setting
Try the closest match first. If you do not see a named option, search for it in Settings; labels and availability depend on the Galaxy model and software version. Samsung notes that “Menu names, settings, and screen layouts may vary depending on the model and software version.” See Samsung’s guide to unusual screen colors.

Adjust color saturation with Screen mode
Open Settings > Display > Screen mode. Samsung describes Vivid as richer in color and Natural as softer and less saturated. Neither is universally best: select the one that matches your preference and the appearance you expect.
On supported models, Vivid also offers white-balance and more detailed color adjustments. Samsung notes that Vivid may not be fully compatible with some third-party apps, so a difference limited to one app may not be fixed by changing the phone-wide mode. Check other changes in brightness, layout, or motion
If the issue is not a tint or saturation shift, identify what changed before adjusting more settings. Samsung’s display troubleshooting guide covers font size and Screen zoom for text or interface size, Dark mode for the overall light/dark appearance, adaptive brightness for brightness changes, and motion smoothness or screen resolution for motion or image presentation.
Refresh-rate choices are model dependent. Samsung Canada describes Standard as 60 Hz and Adaptive as varying up to 120 Hz on supported devices; some models also offer a High option. Power Saving Mode can switch the display to Standard. These settings matter if scrolling or animation feels different, not as a first explanation for a color cast. Samsung Canada

Account for model-specific behavior
Some options may be absent or located differently on your phone. Use Settings search if a path does not match, and consult Samsung support for your region and model rather than assuming every Galaxy runs the same menu layout.
For the Galaxy S26 series specifically, Samsung says, “Because of the inherent characteristics of AMOLED displays, the color tone may appear slightly different.” Samsung’s S26 guidance also says Natural mode, Eye comfort shield, or Adaptive color tone can hide Advanced settings for white balance and vividness. If the appearance still seems wrong
- Restart the phone as a basic troubleshooting step.
- Check the display for visible damage or signs of impact.
- If the problem continues, contact Samsung Support or a Samsung service center. Samsung lists software version, settings, app compatibility, temporary system errors, and physical impact among possible factors in display problems. Samsung’s troubleshooting guide
