RotoWire reported on October 1, 2026, that UTEP wide receiver CJ Simon was out for the Miners’ October 3 game against New Mexico. The report did not establish whether his absence was injury-related or a healthy scratch, and it did not identify an injury.
What is known about Simon’s Week 5 status
RotoWire’s October 1 availability update listed Simon as out for UTEP’s Week 5 game at New Mexico. UTEP’s schedule set that game for Saturday, October 3, 2026. This was a pregame report and may no longer reflect his status after kickoff.
Was Simon injured?
The reason for the absence was not established. RotoWire described the injury designation as undisclosed and said it was unclear whether Simon was injured or a healthy scratch. UTEP’s roster and schedule information identify his position and the game date, but do not provide a team-issued injury explanation. No diagnosis or return date was reported.
Who is CJ Simon?
UTEP lists Simon as a redshirt freshman wide receiver wearing No. 24. The roster gives his hometown as Tuttle, Oklahoma, and lists him at 6 feet and 156 pounds.
