Louisville quarterback Lincoln Kienholz was listed as questionable for the Cardinals’ October 3, 2026 game at NC State, and coach Jeff Brohm had called him a game-time decision. The latest cited pregame report, published October 2, did not confirm whether Kienholz would play.
Will Lincoln Kienholz play against NC State?
As of the October 2 ACCSports.com availability report, Kienholz remained questionable for Louisville’s Saturday trip to NC State in Raleigh. Kickoff was scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET. “Questionable” and “game-time decision” describe an unresolved pregame status; neither confirms that he was active or inactive. The available pregame reporting does not establish the eventual decision. ACCSports.com’s October 2 availability report and its September 29 update provide the latest status described here.
What injury did Kienholz sustain?
Kienholz was injured late in Louisville’s Week 4 loss to Wake Forest. Brohm did not disclose a specific diagnosis in the cited coverage. His statement, published by Cardinal Sports / On3 on September 28, was: “He has something. We are not going to elaborate. It will be a game-time decision.” Cardinal Sports / On3’s report attributes that statement to Brohm.
A separate October 2 RotoWire report described the issue as lower body, but that wording is a media description—not a diagnosis announced by Brohm or Louisville. RotoWire’s update does not change the fact that the coach’s cited comments did not identify the injury.
