Spoilers for the quest’s resolution. There is no mechanically superior choice in Witcher Wannabe: Gamer Guides reports the same 10 XP for finding the fake Witcher and 75 XP for completing the quest regardless of your decision. Your choice determines whether he is turned over to the ealdorman, released, made to work for a year, or exiled.
How to start Witcher Wannabe
First complete the Velen contract The Merry Widow. Then return to Lindenvale and speak with the ealdorman near the signpost. The quest becomes available after an in-game delay: Prima Games says five days, while Gamer Guides recommends returning after roughly a week. If the ealdorman has no new dialogue, spend time on another activity or quest and check back.

Where to find the fake Witcher
Follow the quest marker east from Lindenvale to the cemetery. After dealing with the creatures there, use Witcher Senses to find tracks leading toward the fake Witcher. The guides differ on the specific enemies and precise track location, so focus on searching the cemetery and following the highlighted trail rather than expecting a fixed enemy lineup.

Witcher Wannabe: all outcomes
When two villagers arrive and ask what happened, you can either expose the fake Witcher or cover for him. Each approach leads to a further decision:

Which Witcher Wannabe choice is best?
Choose based on the outcome you want for the character, not an expected gameplay advantage. Gamer Guides reports identical rewards across the branches: 10 XP for locating the fake Witcher and 75 XP for completing the quest. The guide does not establish any wider quest or main-story consequences.
