Check the exact product name, National Drug Code (NDC), lot number, and expiration date on your eye-drop package against a current official recall notice. A Walgreens label alone does not tell you whether a bottle is affected. A secondary tracker dated September 21, 2026 lists Walgreens Lubricant Eye Drops and a twin pack, but the linked FDA product-level record could not be verified from the available record; confirm any specific lot with FDA or the manufacturer before treating it as recalled.

How to check whether your Walgreens eye drops are included

  1. Read the package. Find the product name and formulation, NDC, lot number, and expiration date on the bottle or carton. Keep the carton if you have it; it may make the details easier to read.
  2. Open a current official notice. Compare your package with the product-level FDA recall information or a manufacturer recall notice. Walgreens says its recall page covers notices for products it has sold, but the page reviewed for this article did not display the surfaced 2026 lot list: Walgreens recalls.
  3. Match every identifier shown in the notice. Check that the product and NDC match, then compare the lot number and expiration date. If a notice lists only particular lots, do not assume other lots of the same product are included.
  4. If you cannot confirm the match, ask a pharmacist, the manufacturer, or FDA for help. Do not rely on a brand name or a third-party listing alone to decide that your bottle is recalled.

The September 21, 2026 entry in the EyeDropSafety.org tracker lists Walgreens Lubricant Eye Drops, 0.5% carboxymethylcellulose sodium, NDC 0363-8833-15, and a twin pack. Its linked FDA Enforcement Report opened to a generic search interface rather than a product-level record, so the specific lot details have not been independently confirmed here. Check the current official record before concluding that a bottle is affected.

Why the lot number matters

Recall notices can apply to selected lots rather than every package sold under a brand. An FDA notice from July 3, 2019, for certain Walgreens eye drops and ointments said the recall was limited to the listed lots and no other lots were recalled. That historical notice is not evidence about the September 2026 listing; it shows why matching the package details matters. See the FDA’s 2019 notice.

What to do if your bottle matches a current recall

Stop using a product if an official current notice identifies its product and lot. Follow the instructions in that notice or contact a pharmacist, manufacturer, or health professional for advice about what to do next. The available information does not establish which replacement drops are appropriate for an individual, so do not choose a substitute solely because of this recall.
