When is Rogue Reigns coming to Switch 2?
The reported release date is October 28, 2026. Nintendo Everything’s August 27 report gives that date and describes the game as a digital download. An October 1 report also says it will arrive worldwide through Nintendo eShop on October 28.

Venn Studios’ homepage and Rogue Reigns page still display September 2026. Until the studio updates those pages or a current Nintendo eShop listing confirms the date, treat October 28 as a reported date rather than a confirmed final schedule.
How does Rogue Reigns play?
Rogue Reigns is a dark fantasy roguelike deckbuilder built around a party of three, rather than a single hero managing one deck. Venn Studios says each character has an independent deck, energy supply, and turn. The studio’s example describes a Warrior drawing enemy attention to create an opening for a Wizard, while a Paladin can shield an ally and return absorbed damage to an attacker. These are the developer’s descriptions of the intended mechanics, not independently verified gameplay findings.

That party structure makes coordination the central idea: decisions involve not only which cards to play, but how the three characters’ turns and abilities can work together. Venn Studios summed up its design in the official reveal: “Most deckbuilders give you one character and one deck. In Rogue Reigns, three characters fight together — and the way they interact is the game.”
How many characters and party combinations are there?
Venn Studios’ April 30, 2026 reveal described a launch roster of six characters and 20 possible party compositions. That precise count belongs to the studio’s reveal; later specialist coverage has used the broader “10+” or “over 10” description. The April figure is an announced launch feature, not a separately verified final roster count.

What is the setting and visual style?
The story centers on a divine artifact that mortals misuse to abolish death across six kingdoms. Venn Studios describes a world of tragic rulers and broken societies, with the consequences of that choice unraveling the kingdoms.
The studio describes the presentation as hand-drawn 2.5D characters set against procedurally generated 3D environments that react to combat. Both the setting and art description come from the developer’s announcement.

Will Rogue Reigns be a physical Switch 2 game?
The available release reporting describes a digital download, with the October 1 report specifying a worldwide Nintendo eShop release. No source available here establishes a physical Switch 2 edition of the video game. The game is reported for Switch 2, so that console is the hardware platform needed to play it; the reported download format should not be mistaken for a physical game card.
