Stuart Skinner was reported as the Winnipeg Jets’ starting goalie against the Boston Bruins on Friday, October 2, 2026. The game has since been played: the Jets’ official news feed lists an October 3 postgame report describing an overtime loss to Boston.
Was Stuart Skinner starting for the Jets on Friday?
Yes. RotoWire’s October 2 report said Skinner would protect Winnipeg’s home goal against the Bruins that Friday. That was a report of the expected starter for that game, not confirmation of a season-long schedule of starts. RotoWire’s report also described Skinner as set for the Jets’ No. 1 job that season; that wording is a role outlook, not a guarantee that he would start every game.
What the reports say about Skinner’s form and role
Previous regular-season record
RotoWire summarized Skinner’s previous-season regular-season line as 23-17-9, with a 2.92 goals-against average and a .888 save percentage over 50 appearances. Those figures describe that regular season, not his October 2 performance.
Preseason appearance
In a separate preseason game on September 22, Skinner made 31 saves in Winnipeg’s 3-1 win over Colorado, according to the Jets’ recap. That preseason result is context about his preparation, not the basis for the reported Bruins assignment.
