What kind of game is Quern?
It is a first-person, single-player puzzle adventure set on an island. The player arrives in Quern, and the portal closes behind them. From there, exploration and observation drive the experience: notes, machines, and environmental details offer clues to the island’s history and the reason for the player’s arrival.
Nintendo’s publisher-provided description says the puzzles can introduce mechanics that return and build on one another. The listing also emphasizes handcrafted environments, environmental storytelling, and an open-ended pace of exploration. Those are publisher descriptions, not independent assessments of puzzle difficulty or quality.

Nintendo also notes that compatibility and experience may differ on Switch Lite, but does not identify a game-specific accessory requirement.
Is there a physical Switch version?
The North American Nintendo store listing identifies a digital offer. The official store details consulted do not establish whether a physical cartridge edition will be sold elsewhere, so a cartridge release cannot be confirmed from those listings.
