The Huus Hush Pod is a freestanding chair that closes around its occupant to create a defined personal retreat within a larger room. It is not simply a high-backed lounge chair: Huus describes it as a “free-standing fully closeable privacy pod chair.” Its 165 × 142 × 142 cm exterior footprint, wool-felt body and made-to-order construction make space, delivery logistics and the limits of its acoustic claims important considerations.
What the Huus Hush Pod Chair is
Huus presents Hush as an enclosed personal retreat for settings such as hotels, airports, offices and libraries. The key distinction is that the chair can be fully closed, creating a visually defined space around the person seated inside rather than relying on the partial screening of a conventional wingback chair. The suggested settings and retreat language describe the maker’s positioning; the product sheet does not document customer installations or measured effects on privacy, productivity or wellbeing.
The similar name can cause confusion: NaughtOne’s separate Hush is a wingback lounge chair, not Huus’s closeable pod. Its specifications do not apply to the Huus product.
Dimensions, materials and finish
Huus lists the Hush Pod’s exterior dimensions as 165 cm high, 142 cm wide and 142 cm deep, with a seat height of 31 cm. At 142 cm wide and deep, it occupies a substantial floor area, so check the intended position and access route before arranging delivery.

What “sound absorbing” does—and does not—mean
Huus describes wool felt as naturally sound absorbing, but the specification sheet gives no acoustic test, decibel reduction, speech-privacy result or soundproofing rating. That wording is a material description, not evidence that the closed chair blocks conversations or makes a space acoustically private. Treat visual enclosure and quantified noise control as separate questions; the available product information establishes the former, not the latter.

Ordering, assembly and care
The product sheet says each chair is handcrafted to order in the UK, with a stated lead time of 4–8 weeks. Because the sheet is undated and lead times can change, confirm the current estimate directly with Huus. It says some assembly is required and that instructions and fixings are included. For marks, Huus’s care instruction is to clean with warm soapy water; the sheet does not recommend machine washing or full immersion.
Delivery figures that need confirmation
Huus lists net weight as 65 kg and gross weight as 85 kg. The shipping block gives dimensions of 120 × 85 × 900 cm (L × W × H), but its 900 cm height conflicts with the chair’s stated 165 cm height. Confirm the shipping dimensions with Huus before using that height to plan transport, doorway access or storage. The specification sheet does not state a price or establish current purchase availability.

How to assess whether it suits a space
The pod’s closed form may be useful when a project calls for a distinct visual retreat, but the fit depends on practical constraints as much as appearance. Before specifying one, check:
- Space and access: Allow for the listed 142 × 142 cm footprint, and confirm the delivery route and shipping measurements with the maker.
- Desired separation: Decide whether visual enclosure is sufficient or whether the space requires verified speech privacy or acoustic performance; no such test data is provided in the product sheet.
- Materials and upkeep: Review the wool-felt body, recycled-wool cushion padding and warm-soapy-water spot-cleaning instruction against the demands of the setting.
- Project schedule: Confirm the current made-to-order lead time, assembly requirements and included fixings before committing to an installation date.
- Commercial details: Ask Huus for current pricing and availability, which the sheet does not list.
For the maker’s full stated specifications, see the Huus Hush Pod spec sheet.
