The organization announced the appointment on October 1, 2026; Joonas “doto” Forss was moved to the bench the same day. It is a return for Snappi, who played for HEROIC in multiple spells between 2016 and 2020, and a move from a long playing career into coaching.
What changed at HEROIC?
HEROIC appointed Snappi as head coach of its main CS2 roster on October 1, 2026. HLTV reported that doto had been moved to the bench. The announcement concerns a coaching change; it does not establish how the team will perform under Snappi.
In its announcement, HEROIC described its aim as returning the organization to tier one. Snappi likewise said the team and organization had that goal. This is an ambition, not a claim that HEROIC has already returned to that level. HEROIC’s announcement and HLTV’s October 1 report provide the appointment details.
Why is Snappi returning to HEROIC?
Snappi is returning to an organization where he had already played. HEROIC calls him a founding member and says he was part of its active lineup multiple times between 2016 and 2020. HLTV describes the relationship as more than two years across two spells.

In HEROIC’s announcement, Snappi said he and the organization had spoken earlier in 2026, but he was not then ready to stop playing. After his NIP stint ended and he saw HEROIC’s return to form with a young roster, the coaching opportunity became more appealing. He said the team had a long way to go toward its tier-one goal. HEROIC published his statement on October 1, 2026.
Why did Snappi stop playing?
Snappi said his individual level had declined to the point that it was better to let new players come in. In an interview published by HLTV on October 2, 2026, he described the HEROIC position as a good opportunity and said he saw no reason to wait. How did Snappi move from NIP to HEROIC?
Snappi stepped down from Ninjas in Pyjamas’ active roster by mutual agreement on August 31, 2026, according to HLTV. He had served as NIP’s in-game leader for over a year and a half, having taken the role at the start of 2025. The October HEROIC appointment followed that departure and marks his shift from active player and IGL to coach. HLTV reported on his NIP departure on August 31.
HLTV said NIP’s biggest Big Event result under Snappi’s leadership was reaching the quarter-finals at PGL Astana, alongside titles at smaller events. That context describes his NIP tenure; it does not predict how he will fare as a coach.

What experience does Snappi bring to the role?
Before returning to HEROIC, Snappi played for ENCE, Falcons and NIP. HEROIC credits his ENCE period with helping take an underdog team to a top-two ranking and with winning ENCE’s first major LAN trophy at IEM Dallas 2023. HLTV described Snappi as 36 in its October 1, 2026 appointment report. That is the age given in that dated report, not a timeless figure.

When is Snappi expected to coach HEROIC in a match?
HLTV’s October 1 report listed Stake Pulse Beat III in Stockholm, scheduled for October 12–17, 2026, as Snappi’s expected first appearance behind HEROIC. That was the schedule reported at the time; it should not be treated as confirmation that the appearance later took place. See HLTV’s dated appointment report.
