What sets the SC-PMX112 apart?

The SC-PMX112 is the more feature-rich option in the reported lineup. Its dual-band Wi-Fi, Spotify Connect and internet radio add network listening beyond the Bluetooth, CD and USB playback both systems reportedly share. It also has a subwoofer output for connecting a compatible powered subwoofer and a wired-headphone output.

What Hi-Fi? reports 13cm full-range drivers and 180W output for the PMX112. Those figures describe the listed hardware and output, not independently measured sound quality. Wattage alone does not establish which system will sound better in a particular room.

What does the SC-PM302 keep—and leave out?

The SC-PM302 retains the everyday playback options reported for the larger model: CD, USB, Bluetooth, DAB+ and FM, alongside optical and line inputs. It is the lower-priced choice at the reported launch prices, but the report does not list Wi-Fi streaming, Spotify Connect, internet radio, a subwoofer output or a wired-headphone output for it.

#1 Best Overall
Panasonic SC-HC38 Slim Stylish Compact Micro System
  • Stream Wirelessly - enjoy music streaming with Bluetooth wireless technology from your smart device
  • iPhone/iPod Direct Dock - direct dock compatible with iPhone 5
  • Pure Dynamic Sound - minimized audio distortion with digital signal processing for high sound quality

Its reported specification includes 10cm full-range drivers and 60W RMS output. The report gives no dimensions, so the name “mini-me” is not enough to establish a particular footprint or prove how much smaller it is in a room.

Which Panasonic micro hi-fi system fits your needs?

Choose the SC-PMX112 if streaming or expansion matters

  • You want Wi-Fi-based listening through Spotify Connect or internet radio, rather than relying on Bluetooth alone.
  • You plan to add a compatible powered subwoofer using the reported subwoofer output.
  • You want the reported wired-headphone output for private listening.
  • The higher reported launch price fits your budget.

Choose the SC-PM302 if core playback and price matter more

  • You mainly need CD, USB, Bluetooth, DAB+ and FM, all of which What Hi-Fi? lists for this model.
  • You can do without the PMX112’s listed Wi-Fi features and additional outputs.
  • You prefer its lower reported launch price and do not need a particular room footprint confirmed by dimensions.

Both systems are reported to include optical and line inputs. If you are choosing one for a turntable, first check the turntable’s output requirements and the system’s current official specifications: the October 1, 2026 report does not establish that either model has a phono input.

Launch timing, prices and what is not yet established

What Hi-Fi?’s October 1, 2026 article said both systems were expected to ship in October and that Panasonic’s site listed them as “coming soon” at the time. The reported prices—£270 for the SC-PMX112 and £120 for the SC-PM302, with approximate dollar and Australian-dollar conversions—are launch-report figures, not confirmation of current retail prices or stock. Check Panasonic or local retailers for current availability, regional specifications and pricing.

The launch report describes the systems’ features and specifications but does not include listening-test results. Its description of “clear vocals, detailed high frequencies and powerful bass” is a product claim, not an independent review finding.
