How do the ArkTac controls work?
Olight describes a two-stage tail switch that provides direct access to Turbo Spotlight and Pure Flood without cycling through modes. A separate CommandPoint shortcut defaults to one-touch Strobe and can be customized for other frequently used functions. These controls are intended to make common lighting choices more direct; the announcement does not provide a detailed control diagram or explain every configuration.
What is different about ArkTac Ultra’s material?
Olight says ArkTac Ultra’s OAL² alloy has 7.3% greater hardness and 11.5% higher yield strength than first-generation OAL. Those are comparisons stated by Olight, not independent test findings in the cited announcement. The release does not establish whether the material claim changes the flashlight’s weight, impact resistance, or service life.

How should you choose between ArkTac and ArkTac Ultra?
- Choose based on the laser: The green laser is the specific feature distinguishing the Ultra in Olight’s announcement. If it is not useful to you, the announcement establishes no other confirmed feature that makes the Ultra a better fit.
- Consider your preferred controls: Both models are presented as part of the series using the two-stage tail switch and customizable CommandPoint shortcut. Decide whether direct access to spotlight, flood, and a configurable shortcut suits your use.
- Wait for complete specifications if runtime or size matters: Olight has not published model-level output, runtime, battery, dimensions, or weight in the announcement. Those details are needed for a meaningful technical comparison.
How does ArkTac compare with ArkPro?
ArkTac is described as carrying ArkPro’s flat-body, multi-source approach into tactical lighting, but the two product lines should not be conflated. Olight’s US ArkPro listing describes that separate flashlight as having flood, spot, UV, and green beam, plus dual charging. Those are ArkPro specifications, not ArkTac specifications.
