Its headline addition is free Chaos Siege, a PvE mode in which players fight as Chaos Space Marines across two sectors on Avarax. The update also adds Crucible challenge progression, a one-handed thunder hammer, weapon and class changes, and customization options. The named Season Pass 3 packs are optional cosmetics, not a requirement to play the new modes.
What is Chaos Siege?
Chaos Siege is a free PvE mode and the first opportunity in Space Marine 2 to play as Chaos Space Marines in PvE. Players battle Tyranids, Cadians, and loyalist Space Marines across two Siege sectors on Avarax. Focus Entertainment’s announcement describes the update as adding “a brand new mode letting you play as Chaos Space Marines in PvE games for the very first time.”
The launch version has two sectors. Focus’s September preview said a third sector was in development; that was a plan, not part of the announced launch content.
What else does Patch 15 add?
Crucible adds player-selected challenges
In Crucible, players select Penances—negative modifiers that make missions harder. Completing missions earns Crucible XP toward rewards, including the Lamenters armour set. Progress is tied to the class being played, so each class has its own Penances and progression.

The September preview described six difficulty tiers with minimum Penance requirements. For example, Tier 1 requires two Penances and Tier 3 requires six.
A one-handed thunder hammer and weapon changes
The one-handed thunder hammer is available to Tactical, Assault, Bulwark, and Techmarine. Focus describes it as faster than the two-handed version and says it can be charged for area-of-effect blows. Patch 15 also adds Heroic weapon variants for the Power Axe, Auto Bolt Rifle, and one-handed hammer.

The Tactical skill tree has been reworked. Its melee weapon choices include the power axe, one-handed hammer, and power sword; equipping one replaces the class’s primary weapon. A signature perk can instead put a regular bolt rifle in the secondary slot.
More customization
A third wargear slot can be used for capes, tabards, and Iron Halos. The update also adds armour items and Ordeals.

Do you need to buy Season Pass 3?
No. The Space Wolves Champion Pack and Exorcists Cosmetic Pack are optional cosmetics, not access passes for Chaos Siege or Crucible. The Space Wolves pack includes a Bulwark Champion skin and themed hammer; the Exorcists pack contains armour cosmetics. Warhammer Community says they can be purchased separately or through Season Pass 3. The other Patch 15 additions are free.

Focus Entertainment lists PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC as supported platforms for the 1 October 2026 update. The announcement confirms platform availability but does not specify download size or platform-specific installation details.
