A 26-year-old man was arrested after allegedly calling 911 with a fake medical emergency in an attempt to avoid a $63 restaurant bill, according to a report published by Dexerto on October 2, 2026, which attributed its account to Atlanta broadcaster WSB-TV. The arrest and reported charges are allegations, not proof of guilt.
What reportedly happened
The man was identified in the report as Abdul Rasheed, 26. According to Dexerto’s account of WSB-TV’s reporting, he called 911 while facing a restaurant bill of $63 and claimed to have a medical emergency. Responders reportedly found that he did not need medical assistance.
The report does not include a recording or transcript of the call, so the exact words used and the details of the alleged incident are not established in the published account.
What charges were reported?
Dexerto reported that police arrested Rasheed on allegations including theft of services, unlawful conduct during a 911 call, and making a false report. These are reported allegations; the account does not establish that a court found him guilty.
