Spore Hero is the 2009 Wii action-adventure game in which players deal with red meteorites while protecting their creature’s home planet from the villain Zarkhator. Official descriptions confirm that broad premise, but do not identify a named “meteor defense” mission or document its exact steps. This guide separates what is established from what the available official material does not verify.
What is Zarkhator’s meteor defense?
Spore Hero is an action-adventure game exclusive to Wii. Nintendo describes gameplay involving quests, combat, puzzles, exploration, creature-part discovery, and disposing of red meteorites. Electronic Arts identifies Zarkhator as the evil nemesis threatening the player’s creature home planet. Together, those descriptions establish the scenario’s broad context, not a detailed account of a particular encounter.

Nintendo’s product description does not call the meteor sequence a distinct mission or explain its objective trigger, enemy behavior, or sequence of actions. The official material available here therefore cannot support a reliable step-by-step walkthrough for defending against Zarkhator’s meteor.
What to know before looking for a walkthrough
- Game: Spore Hero, the Wii action-adventure title—not the Nintendo DS game Spore Hero Arena.
- Scenario: Nintendo says players must dispose of red meteorites; EA names Zarkhator as the threat to the creature home planet.
- Exact encounter instructions: The official product descriptions do not specify the meteor-defense objective, its trigger, or the controls and tactics needed to complete it.
The official Spore community’s Wii fighting and creature-creation guides cover general controls. The creation guide describes the Wii Remote cursor and Nunchuk joystick, along with inputs for selecting and adjusting creature parts. Those general guides do not establish the inputs for this meteor encounter.

How the meteor scenario fits the Wii game
Creature customization is central to Spore Hero: EA said the game includes more than 250 creature parts, and that parts can affect how creatures play and fight. The game also combines quests, combat, puzzles, and exploration, so the meteorites belong to a wider action-adventure experience rather than a documented, standalone defense mode.
For release timing, Nintendo UK lists 9 October 2009. EA’s North American launch announcement says the game was available at North American retailers on 6 October 2009 and that it reached international store shelves on 9 October. These are regional launch statements, not conflicting universal dates.

Do not confuse it with Spore Hero Arena
Spore Hero Arena is a separate Nintendo DS game set in the same universe. Nintendo’s description gives that game a different premise involving a blue meteor collision, arena champions, and rogue red meteors. Those details should not be used as instructions or plot facts for the Wii game Spore Hero.
