GMDA has floated a fresh tender for Phase 1 of Gurugram’s Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) elevated corridor, with bids due November 18, 2026, according to Hindustan Times. The reported project cost is ₹776 crore for a 4.23 km stretch from Vatika Chowk to the Dwarka Expressway cloverleaf on NH-48. The report describes a tender, not an awarded contract or an active construction site.

The proposed Phase 1 route runs from Vatika Chowk to the Dwarka Expressway cloverleaf on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway (NH-48). Hindustan Times reports the elevated portion will be 4.23 km long and comprise four lanes in each direction.
GMDA chief engineer Pravin Chaudhary described a broader road arrangement alongside the elevated section:
- Primary service roads with three lanes in each direction (3+3).
- Secondary service roads with two lanes in each direction (2+2).
- Second-level access toward Sector 75 and Sector 75A roads, plus another access road toward Tulip Chowk.
- Ramps, loops and surface-level U-turns.

Why GMDA says the corridor is needed
The report attributes the traffic rationale to GMDA studies and population projections. They forecast that traffic at junctions around Sectors 69, 70, 71/72, 70/75, 71/74, 75/75A and 74/74A will exceed 10,000 car units per hour within the next 10 years, creating a need for grade separation. The report does not specify the forecast year or provide an independently verified traffic count.

Chaudhary said the road is intended to improve vehicle movement between the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway and Sohna Road and reduce congestion on the existing stretch. That is the project’s stated expected benefit, not a measured result.
What the chief minister’s review covered
Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini chaired a project review at the PWD Guest House in Gurugram on Friday, where the SPR was discussed, according to the report. GMDA CEO P.C. Meena said two further phases are in planning:
