The AWOL Vision Aetherion Max was listed at £2,569 on Amazon UK in an early Prime Day discount reported on 2 October 2026, down £930 from £3,499. That is a dated offer, not confirmation of today’s price or availability: check the Amazon UK listing before buying. What Hi-Fi? said 20% of the limited-price stock had been claimed when it published its deal article; that was the publisher’s snapshot at the time, not a live stock count.

What is the early Prime Day deal?

What Hi-Fi? reported the Aetherion Max at £2,569, reduced from £3,499, at Amazon UK on 2 October 2026. Its article described the offer as an early discount ahead of the main Prime Day event, which was due to begin the following Tuesday. Prices and stock can change, so neither the discount nor the reported stock level should be treated as a guarantee that the offer remains live.

The listed saving is £930 against the £3,499 comparison price. What Hi-Fi? disclosed that it may earn an affiliate commission when readers buy through links on its site.

What you get with the Aetherion Max

AWOL VISION Aetherion Max 4K Projector, Triple Laser UST Projector, 3300 ISO Lumens, Daytime Viewing, PixelLock™ 200" Laser TV,6000:1 Contrast,Dolby Vision Gaming,1ms,Google TV
  • Bright Room Ready, no Curtains Needed: 3,300 ISO Lumens of RGB triple-laser brightness delivers a vivid, color-accurate image in living rooms with ambient light, open-plan spaces, and soft daytime light — without blackout curtains or a dark room. 110% Rec.2020 color gamut produces lifelike greens, accurate skin tones, and saturated colors that LED TVs and lamp projectors cannot physically reproduce. Whether it's a family movie afternoon, a daytime sports match, or everyday streaming — the Aetherion Max laser tv performs in your room, as it is.
  • Deep Blacks, Vivid Highlights: Powered by Noirscene System II, the Aetherion Max's industry-leading 7-level IRIS and EBL algorithm deliver up to 6,000:1 native contrast and 60,000:1 viewing contrast — making dark scenes look deeper and shadow detail sharper whether the lights are on or off. With Dolby Vision, Dolby Vision Gaming, HDR10+, HDR10, HLG, and Dynamic Tone Mapping, bright highlights stay balanced and low-light scenes keep their depth — so every movie and every game feels more cinematic at home.
  • Staduim-scale Gaming and Sports: 1ms-class input latency at 240Hz keeps every frame sharp — whether you're deep in a competitive match or watching 90 minutes of live soccer on a 150-inch screen, fast-moving action stays blur-free and responsive. VRR, ALLM, and Dolby Vision Gaming deliver console and PC performance without compromise — connect PS5, Xbox Series X, and gaming PC simultaneously via 3× HDMI 2.1a and DisplayPort 1.4a, no cable switching needed. Native 24/48/50FPS with MEMC preserves cinematic motion for movies and sports broadcasts. Every sprint, every shot, every last-minute goal — stadium-scale, at home.
  • Watch Longer, Feel Less Fatigue: Industry-first Anti-RBE technology reduces 99.99% of rainbow-effect distractions in both 2D and 3D content — a level of eye comfort no other UST projector currently offers. TÜV-certified Harmful Light Reduction delivers a cleaner, gentler picture for all-day viewing — movie marathons, full match days, and back-to-back gaming sessions included. The Aetherion Max is built for the moments that bring everyone together, and built to last as long as those moments do.
  • THE LIVING ROOM UPGRADE THAT FITS YOUR LIVING ROOM — 0.2:1 ultra-short throw ratio sits inches from the wall, no ceiling mount, no professional installation, setup complete in minutes. At 200 inches, it delivers a screen 6× larger than an 85-inch TV — at a fraction of the wall space. Pair with an ALR screen for clear, high-contrast images even under direct overhead lighting. Consumes up to 500kWh less electricity per year than a comparable large-screen TV based on 4 hours daily use — the display that pays for itself over time. This is the all-in-one laser TV replacement for modern living rooms.

Connections and features listed in the review include three HDMI inputs, USB-C DisplayPort, Google TV, AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Miracast, and support for HLG, HDR10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. The built-in sound system supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X formats.

Picture and sound: the main strengths and caveats

What Hi-Fi? gave the projector a five-star review, scoring picture 5, sound 4 and features 4. The reviewer praised its bright, vibrant, contrast-rich image, saying it can work in ambient light while still delivering convincing blacks and natural colour in a dark room. The reviewer’s overall judgement was that it produced some of the best picture quality they had seen from a UST projector; that is one publication’s assessment, not a measure of wider consensus.

  • Seamless Setup with Floor-Rising Screens (Screen & Projector Sold Separately):Manually pull out the center tray to its fixed stop, place your UST projector, and complete the initial alignment and calibration with your motorized floor-rising screen. For subsequent use, simply power on your projector to start watching instantly — no additional setup required.

The built-in speakers were judged better than typical projector audio, but they are not a substitute for a dedicated system if sound quality is a priority. The review noted strained bass, occasional electronic-sounding deep male voices, dialogue that could seem to come from below the screen, and harshness at very high volume.

There are picture-mode qualifications, too. In Filmmaker Mode, bright HDR highlights can clip unless Enhance Black Level is turned off; the reviewer noted that doing so can make blacks look greyer. Dolby Vision Bright may show mild shimmer and a green undertone, which the review says largely disappears in Dolby Vision Dark. The review also found the tested sample’s 3D playback detailed and clean, though judder could distract in action scenes; results may vary between viewers and units.

Setup, apps and rainbow effects to consider

  • Installation: The review says the projector lacks a sophisticated automatic image-installation system. Allow time to align the picture and configure the room rather than expecting the projector to handle setup for you.
  • Streaming: What Hi-Fi? flags the absence of BBC iPlayer in its Google TV implementation. If iPlayer is essential, check your preferred way to access it before buying.
  • Rainbow processing: Anti-rainbow processing can introduce a whine, and the reviewer found it may not remove the rainbow effect sufficiently for particularly sensitive viewers.
  • Optional screen: AWOL Vision sells separate 100- and 120-inch ambient-light-rejecting motorised floor-rising screens. What Hi-Fi? said a 120-inch sample used with its review projector made the image punchier in a bright room and held up well in a dark one. Its 1.3 gain is above the 1.0 level the review describes as usually recommended for accurate dark-room viewing. The screen is not stated to be included with the Amazon projector offer.

Gaming performance: fast, but check the resolution and settings

What Hi-Fi? measured 9.7 ms input lag with 1080p/60Hz sources in Game/PC mode, falling to just over 3 ms at 240Hz. The 240Hz figure applies to Full HD, not 4K. The review also warns that enabling AMD FreeSync VRR raises latency; on Xbox Series X, it can cause output to default to Full HD and SDR rather than 4K HDR. If you are buying primarily for gaming, weigh the low-latency figures against those resolution and mode trade-offs.

Is it a better buy than the Hisense PX3-Pro?

What Hi-Fi? names the Hisense PX3-Pro as a less expensive UST alternative and says it had been discounted to as little as £1,599 at some UK retailers during the review period in July 2026. That is historical context, not a current quote. The Aetherion Max costs more, so compare the live prices alongside the factors that matter in your room:
