ArkWeb lets Spider-Man swing through Batman: Arkham Knight’s Gotham by linking two games running at the same time. It does not combine their engines into one game: Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered supplies Spider-Man’s movement, while Arkham Knight supplies Gotham and its collision and grapple data. A Python tool passes information between them, and Arkham Knight displays a captured frame from Spider-Man.
How ArkWeb puts Spider-Man in Arkham Knight
ArkWeb is a cross-game bridge, not a conventional character replacement. According to the creator’s README, a hidden instance of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered acts as the guest: it publishes Spider-Man’s position and camera view. Batman: Arkham Knight runs as the host, scanning Gotham and exporting collision and grapple information.

A Python streamer turns the host’s exported data into collision tiles and sends them to Spider-Man’s physics world. The Spider-Man frame is then captured and drawn into Arkham Knight’s view, while a hidden Batman puppet follows Spider-Man’s position. The README also describes converting coordinates between Unreal Engine 3’s Z-up centimeters and Spider-Man’s Y-up meters. In other words, the project coordinates separate game worlds and presents them together; it does not literally merge the games’ engines or executables.
Tbreak’s October 2, 2026 report likewise describes a hidden guest game linked to a host game. Although some coverage has associated the project with AI, Tbreak notes that the README does not mention an AI component; the documented mechanism is custom code and exchanged game data.

What you need to run it
The following are requirements stated by the ArkWeb README, not independently verified compatibility results. It does not specify a minimum processor, graphics card, or memory configuration; the PC must be able to run both games at once.
- Windows 10 x64.
- Steam copies of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Batman: Arkham Knight.
- Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered version 4.0630. The README says other builds refuse to hook.
- An Xbox-style controller.
- Visual Studio 2019 Build Tools and the Windows 10 SDK.
- Python 3.12, with
numpy,scipy,numba,pefile, andcapstonelisted for the build and streamer.
Because the project specifies Steam copies, its documented setup should not be assumed to work with other editions. ArkWeb is an unofficial fan project and does not include either game’s files; you need your own copies. The README says it is not affiliated with Insomniac Games, Nixxes, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Rocksteady Studios, or Warner Bros. Games.

Known rough edges and save precautions
The creator describes ArkWeb as experimental: it works end to end, but remains a research project with rough edges. The README documents several limitations that affect play:
- Gaps in the world: Some building collision can be hollow or absent. Moving quickly into a district before its data loads can temporarily leave gaps.
- Interrupted zips: A blocked path can cut a zip short.
- Lighting mismatch: Spider-Man’s lighting follows New York’s time of day, so he may look dark against Gotham.
- Combat limitations: Arkham Knight’s own freeflow combat takes over. Pose copying is incomplete and tied to the recorded suit skeleton.
- Autosave risk: Arkham Knight autosaves while Batman is controlled as a puppet. Follow the README’s save and recovery instructions carefully before experimenting.
These are documented caveats, not a measured assessment of performance or compatibility across different PCs. The README does not provide benchmark results or a comparative stability test.

ArkWeb is different from the older Spider-Man suit mod
A separate Nexus Mods upload adds Spider-Man as a Batman suit slot; its listing was last updated September 5, 2024. That changes Batman’s appearance. ArkWeb instead links two simultaneously running games so Spider-Man’s movement can be used in Gotham.
