MSI’s MEG X870E GODLIKE X EDITION is a 10th-anniversary AM5 motherboard limited to 1,000 numbered units. MSI lists it in the US for $1,299.99. Its appeal is a combination of flagship connectivity and overclocking hardware, a built-in 3.99-inch display, extra Gen5 M.2 expansion, and collector’s items—not a different CPU platform from other X870E boards.
What is the MSI MEG X870E GODLIKE X EDITION?
MSI announced the board at Gamescom 2025 to mark 10 years of its GODLIKE motherboard line. It is a limited-edition version of the company’s flagship X870E motherboard, built around AMD’s AM5 socket and X870E chipset. How much does it cost, and how many were made?
The MSI US Store lists the price at $1,299.99. MSI says production is limited to 1,000 units. Each board has a uniquely engraved M.2 Shield Frozr numbered from 0001 to 1000. MSI’s product page
The price is for a premium, feature-rich motherboard and an anniversary package, rather than a performance figure that by itself guarantees faster gaming or productivity. Buyers should weigh the expansion and connectivity they will use against the price premium and the value they place on the limited-edition extras.

What comes in the box?
MSI lists a numbered Golden Nameplate, a Collector’s Stand, and a Black Lucky plush with the board. Those items are part of the edition’s collector appeal; they do not change its AM5 socket or chipset capabilities. MSI US Store
Which CPUs and memory does it support?
The motherboard supports AMD Ryzen 7000, 8000, and 9000 desktop processors that use the AM5 platform. Memory is dual-channel DDR5, rated by MSI at 9000+ MT/s when overclocked. That is an overclocked specification, not a guarantee that every processor, memory kit, and configuration will run at that speed; check MSI’s compatibility information when choosing components. What hardware and connectivity set it apart?
Power delivery and cooling
MSI specifies a 24+2+1 power-phase design with 110A smart power stages and two 8-pin CPU power connectors. Frozr Guard cooling is intended to manage heat around the board’s components. These are high-end features for demanding processor configurations and overclocking, but they do not establish a particular performance gain without comparable test results.
Display and storage expansion
Dynamic Dashboard III is a 3.99-inch LCD built into the board. For storage, MSI includes the M.2 XPANDER-Z SLIDER GEN5, an add-on for additional Gen5 M.2 storage. The board’s combination of onboard features and expansion is most relevant to builds that need multiple high-speed drives or want status information displayed on the motherboard.

Where can you buy it?
PC Gamer reported US distribution through Micro Center and Newegg, and UK distribution through Scan, alongside reported prices of $1,299.99 in the US and £1,249.99 in the UK. Is the GODLIKE X EDITION worth $1,300?
It is easiest to justify for a high-end AM5 build that will use its storage expansion, extensive USB, fast wired networking, Wi-Fi 7, or overclocking-oriented power delivery—and for a buyer who also values the numbered edition and included collectibles. If those features would go unused, the limited run alone does not make the board a practical choice. The cited materials do not establish a performance advantage over a standard GODLIKE board or quantify the value of the extras, so compare the exact features and current prices of the alternatives you are considering.
