Infineon Technologies AG and HL Klemove have signed a memorandum of understanding to work on vehicle electronics and autonomous-driving technologies for software-defined vehicles (SDVs). Their planned work spans zonal controllers, Ethernet-connected camera and ADAS systems, and next-generation radar—but the announcement covers development and proof-of-concept activity, not a production vehicle or launch commitment.
What the Infineon–HL Klemove partnership covers
Announced on January 8, 2026, the agreement combines Infineon’s semiconductor and system expertise with HL Klemove’s autonomous-driving capabilities. The companies aim to accelerate vehicle electronic architecture for the SDV era and advance autonomous-driving technologies. Their announcement describes three areas of planned cooperation:

Infineon’s announcement does not name a production vehicle, production-volume contract, launch date, or confirmed commercialized radar product. The proposed work should therefore be read as a development partnership rather than a commitment that a particular system will ship.
How zonal controllers, Ethernet, and radar fit an SDV
Zonal controllers organize vehicle electronics
A zonal architecture groups electronic functions by their physical location in a vehicle, rather than assigning each function its own isolated control unit. The proposed work pairs HL Klemove’s application development with Infineon microcontrollers and power semiconductors. That combination is intended to support prototype work on the vehicle’s electronic architecture; the announcement does not specify a particular controller design or vehicle program.

Ethernet links camera and ADAS systems
Camera modules and parking-control systems depend on data moving among sensors, controllers, and other vehicle systems. The partners’ plan is to use Infineon Ethernet semiconductors and networking technology in front-camera modules and ADAS parking-control units, with HL Klemove responsible for system and product development. The release describes the network as high-speed and highly reliable but does not provide bandwidth, latency, or reliability measurements.
Radar provides another sensing input
The radar work focuses on high-resolution short-range sensing and imaging radar for more precise object recognition. Infineon contributes radar semiconductor solutions, while HL Klemove will use them in proof-of-concept work. The announcement does not report detection-range or accuracy results, nor does it establish that the planned radar has entered production.

Why the collaboration matters—and what it does not establish
Infineon describes SDVs as vehicles that can gain features, safety functions, and digital services over their lifetimes through software updates. That approach makes the underlying electronics important: computing hardware executes vehicle software, networks connect functions, sensors supply information, and power and security considerations affect the architecture. The partnership’s three work areas touch several of those layers, but its announcement does not claim that the collaboration alone delivers a complete SDV platform or autonomous-driving capability.
The agreement also fits into HL Klemove’s broader SDV activity. In January 2025, HL Klemove and HARMAN announced a central-compute platform intended to integrate autonomous-driving and infotainment functions while supporting continuous software updates. That effort addresses central computing, while the Infineon collaboration described here focuses on zonal control, Ethernet-connected ADAS and camera systems, and radar. HARMAN’s announcement describes the earlier platform as intended work, not proof that the Infineon projects are in production.
