Wellell says it uses them to check connectivity and function in its iX Series CPAP devices and Optima/Procare Series pressure-relief mattresses. The announcement describes a quality-control effort, not proof of improved clinical outcomes or a measured reduction in device failures.
What equipment did Wellell choose?
In an announcement dated February 5, 2025, Anritsu said Wellell had adopted its IoT wireless-transmission testing technology. The deployment names two instruments with different roles: the MT8821C Radio Communication Analyzer and the MT8862A Wireless Connectivity Tester. Wellell uses them for IoT connectivity and functional testing of respiratory-therapy devices and pressure-relief mattresses. Anritsu’s announcement does not specify a test schedule, configuration for each product, or published pass/fail results.

These instruments address distinct parts of a connected device’s radio performance: cellular links on the MT8821C and Wi-Fi/WLAN behavior on the MT8862A. Anritsu’s MT8862A product information describes its WLAN testing capabilities. The announcement does not say that every Wellell product uses both radios or that every listed standard is enabled in every model.
Which Wellell products are covered?
The announcement identifies Wellell’s iX Series CPAP devices and Optima/Procare Series pressure-relief mattresses. Wellell says the products use IoT wireless technology and that comprehensive testing is intended to support globally standardized connectivity quality and safer, more reliable solutions for patients and healthcare providers. It does not identify individual model numbers or disclose which wireless functions are tested on each product.

What wireless testing can establish—and what it cannot
RF testing can assess whether a device communicates under defined radio conditions and can help expose signal-quality, interoperability or performance issues before products are used. Testing cellular and WLAN connectivity is relevant to connected medical equipment, where a dependable link may matter to device monitoring or other connected functions.
However, the public announcement establishes the equipment adoption and Wellell’s stated goals; it does not publish independent test results, failure-rate reductions, or measurements of patient or clinical outcomes. The deployment is evidence of an added testing capability, not evidence by itself that the devices became safer or that connectivity failures declined.

How this fits Wellell’s stated quality program
Wellell says it was founded in 1990 and operates in more than 80 countries through distribution and service networks. Its quality page, accessed in 2026, reports more than 190 safety certifications and 337 medical-product accreditations, citing examples including ISO 13485, US FDA 510(K), MDD, 93/42/EEC, NMPA, Australia TGA, Health Canada and TFDA recognitions. These are company-reported totals and examples; they do not establish the regulatory status of a particular model or market.
The same page says Wellell products undergo reliability and functional testing covering operating temperature, pressure, noise, fabric durability and compression life. Wireless testing adds a connectivity-focused dimension to that stated quality approach, but the published materials do not describe how radio-test results feed into a product’s release criteria.

Anritsu Taiwan General Manager Ivan Chen described the partnership as combining Wellell’s medical focus with Anritsu’s testing solutions. These statements express the companies’ rationale and expectations; they are not independent performance findings.
