Engage2Excel has expanded its StorONE storage deployment to manage more than 1PB of data across production storage, backup, virtual tape library (VTL), business continuity, disaster recovery and long-term retention. The expansion took place over several years as the workforce solutions provider’s requirements grew, with infrastructure partner Fabrics4Clouds supporting the deployment.
What the expanded StorONE deployment covers
The reported scale is more than 1PB of data, according to DataCentreNews UK’s 2026 report. The reports do not specify whether that figure uses decimal or binary petabytes, so it should be read as the reported capacity figure rather than a more precise byte count.
The deployment brings several different storage roles onto the same platform:
- Production storage: data used by active business systems.
- Backup and VTL: data-protection copies and virtual tape library services.
- Business continuity and disaster recovery: resources intended to support service continuity and recovery.
- Long-term retention: data kept for extended periods rather than frequent access.
Engage2Excel CIO Patrick Elalouf said the teams use the same StorONE software across production, backup and disaster recovery, which he described as making the environment easier to manage as the business grows. Fabrics4Clouds is the infrastructure partner identified in the coverage.

How StorONE FlashSpan works
StorONE’s FlashSpan, previously called Real Time Tiering, analyzes data access patterns and places information on different storage media according to how it is used. Its stated purpose is to reserve flash for data that benefits from its performance and place other data on lower-cost media. The reports do not describe Engage2Excel’s hardware models or exact system architecture.
StorONE says FlashSpan can deliver up to 9x more effective storage from existing flash infrastructure. That is a vendor-attributed maximum, not a measured result disclosed for Engage2Excel: the reports provide no measurement method, independent test, workload details or customer-specific flash-capacity figure. It also does not mean Engage2Excel physically increased its storage capacity by nine times.

What the announcement establishes—and what it leaves open
The scale and workload breadth are the clearest reported facts: more than 1PB of data across production, protection, recovery and retention workloads. Elalouf’s comments provide the customer’s rationale for a common software environment; they are not an independent assessment of performance or cost.
Public reporting does not state the deployment’s financial terms, how much flash hardware it uses, benchmark results or independently validated performance. StorONE CEO Gal Naor described the long-term customer relationship as evidence of continued trust, while Fabrics4Clouds CEO André Mellul characterized StorONE as a platform that requires little ongoing management. Those are attributed vendor and partner opinions, not measured findings.

The reports describe StorONE as hardware-agnostic, but do not identify Engage2Excel’s storage hardware or show how the platform is configured. The announcement therefore documents a growing deployment and its stated workload scope; it does not provide enough detail to quantify savings, compare it with another platform or verify the 9x efficiency claim.
